Going Away Presents for New Friends

I am on a youth exchange in Mexico. I have made some great friends over the past year, and I want to make- not buy- them a nice gift to show them how much their friendship meant to me. What are some good ideas for something i could make? Thanks!

how about friendship bracelets? there are some kinds that look awesome and dont take long at all.
