you also have a good idea about warnings being on the site i like that im sure cat and the rest of her cut out crew will know what to do when that time comes

I don't like the idea. For example, if someone posted alot of plushies in one day as seperate projects, perhaps it's because they stand alone as their own works of art rather than a group, I don't agree with enforcing limits....just my opinion.

I don't like the points thing because like Tom said, you'll get "points grabbers" meaning that they'll start making post-for-no-reason threads like CRAZY, start adding absolutely everyone as friends even though they've never even talked to them or chatted with them, etc... and adding silly little non-projects, etc. Y'know what I mean? Nothing peeves me more than on MySpace and Facebook when people I've never met or talked to want to add me just so I can join their team and help them win/get points on some silly game or other...

People do that already though.

I agree it will encourage more and that would be awful. Maybe points for having How-Tos favourited or Versions of your projects made?

both the points thing (popularity/creativity contest? erm...what?) and the restrictions sound like bad ideas.
the points might very well lead to people posting more useless, lame projects. for example, i could post a pictue of my cat saying i made a nature picture! also, it could lead to popularity contests: i have more points than you, so i'm better. or, if you get me a point i'll get you a point! like the sub 4 sub stuff on youtube.
and the restriction. so what if i want to post post a lot of plushies in a row because i felt like taking pictures of them that day? why is that a problem? if you dislike seeing lots of the same stuff on the homepage (or wherever you see those) such a problem. if you are truly bothered by it, scroll down faster or skip a page. i look at those new projects, and only look at the ones i like closer. so if you are bothered by the projects that are much like one another, the maker must have had a reason to post them as multiple projects. don't pay attention to it.
so, the restriction would make the creativity flow smaller, and the points would create more useless projects. so i say don't to both.

Not liking the point system idea for obvious reason Mama Zoe mentioned, but I do agree with the posting of the same type of projects as one post. A plushie is a plushie, a bracelet is a bracelet, no need for each one to be posted by itself. I get what you're saying Suzi about scrolling down the page and/or skipping to the next, but it is annoying to see the same type of creation posted separately by the same person, there are sometimes breaks in where they posted something, then another one by someone else then theirs again, so then you miss somebody else' because you skipped a page. Plus it's just common sense to post the same type of craft together. Now I can understand if someone posted a type of creation with different variations, and then later down the line posted some more of the same thing, like I have done with my ATC post or my drawings. I am guilty though of doing the posting of multiple things of the same type in separate posts, but that was before I knew better and just getting to learn the site. I wish now I could go back and put them all in one, but oh well.
Another thing, I have a dilemma where as I was working on a project, but didn't finish to post it before someone else posted the exact same thing before I posted mine. Now do I put mine as a new post or as a version? I really hate to put it as a version because mine was WIP before someone else posted theirs.

Hello Cat, Merry Meet

I agree with your comment that 'people have different skill levels and if they want to share how-to's that they think will be helpful, then I don't think we should stop them'.

Some are very simple & others quite complex.

I try to make a how-to to pass on little tips about stuff I've found out while I've been making things.

It's not always easy to do a how-to as people don't want to insult anyone's intelligence at the same time as not wanting to make it too difficult for someone who may want to try something new.

It is hard sometimes to find a balance and most of the how-to's I've come across have had a lot of time & work put into producing them.

I'm in agreement that a points system could be problematic and there could be projects posted just because they get more points. It could end up limiting the types of things people post.

Peace & Blessings
