Project posting limit

That's a good idea. I know enforcing rules is bad but I still hate seeing the front page full of projects that are totally similar and by the same crafter.

I like variations!

i hope no one gets affended by this but a leader makes rules if not you get annarchy

1 a: absence of government b: a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority c: a utopian society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government
2 a: absence or denial of any authority or established order b: absence of order : disorder <not manicured plots but a wild anarchy of nature — Israel Shenker>
3: anarchism

part of being a leader is inforceing the rules to make your institution better for the whole not the few
and a leader can do that whether ppl will love or hate them for it ;)

Ok I know I'm late to all this, but here's my 2kr.
I agree with Roma(I saw her points first) that if one person posts like 5 projects in one night, one after the other it kind gets annoying. Post them all in one post, there are options for multiple photos in one creation/how-to.
I have done this myself on occasions where I have a few items to post on one night. I add them all to the one creation directing people that I have more than one item. Wether or not people actually look at the different photo's I never know, but I don't care. It's out there they can look if they are interested.

I think the issue raised first was sidelined by people complaining about different versions of already posted projects, which as Cat has said, is kind of hard to govern.
I personally go by the rule of, if I was inspired by someone on here to make something I will post it as a version of their project, even if I made my own adjustments. I'm not out for personal glory here. Also, I think it's great when you get a notice saying someone has made a version of your project!

These are the things I suppose that crop up once a place gets bigger.

EDIT: i looked through my projects & I have posted more than one on one night. GUILTY, I think it's because I know no one looks after the main photo... maybe there could be away to make it more obvious there are more photos? Even though there are photo numbers... but you know.

Hmm, I don't think people should go combining several different projects in to one project, unless they are very similar or the same type of thing. For example, if someone posts a project called 'My hat and earrings', we wouldn't know what to categorize that as - a hat, or earrings?!

I also don't think we should the number of projects someone can post in a set amount of time. Sometimes I'm really crafty and want to post 2 or 3 projects in one night and I don't think I should be limited just because I felt that creative. The problem with this at the moment seems to be new people joining and adding all of their projects to date, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because we get to see lots of projects. I think as the site gets bigger and busier, this will become less of an issue because there will be a much higher level of project traffic anyway.

Please don't get mad, I just don't think it's a good idea to put limits on creativity. It's good to be creative and crafty.

projects are great i love seeing new projects on the site

cat you were saying something about not being sure about catorgorizing something as glasses or hat maybe you could create a catorgory to cover alot of different projects like accessories it seems like it would be easier to me
if some one posted any thing like baretts or jewlery it could also be accessories so can purses totes etc belts you get the idea

something i was wondering maybe some ppl want to post projects that a younger audience shouldnt see like idk a nude painting or something
maybe ppl arent doing that now or thinking about it but as the site grows maybe you could think about making something for users with over age 18
can post and see projects that other younger members cant
the only reason i bring this up is because my kids do alot of crafts and want me to make them a pg so its just something to think about its not a problem now but this site could get pretty big Happy
and you will have ppl probley posting paints sculptures etc

Good point, age restrictions will certainly be something we'll work on as the site grows - luckily it hasn't really been an issue up until now, but it would be good to make it possible to post such things, while hiding it from a younger audience.

Having an accessories categories for those things works, we already do it in some cases, but what if someone posted a project with really different things, such as a hat with a cake or a book with soap?

If you have age restrictions, it should be 16 =P those things bother me anyway, I kinda thing that if someone isn't mature enough to see everything they're likely to see on the net they shouldn't be on, but it definately shouldn't be above 16. If you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough to look at pictures of naked people

you have a very good point
but ppl of all ages love to craft my 3 yr old isnt old enough to see everyy thing on you tube but i still let him look at batman and incredable hulk videos
they make you confirm your birth date so he cant see things that arent appropriate for his age level yes he does know how to play videos on you tube he only needs me to type in bat man etc lol yes i regrett teaching him i cant ever get him off now lol

but sites dont do this because they think 16 yr olds arent mature enough to see boobies im sure they show 16 yr olds more then that in sex ed class
its more less for the parents and liability reasons
do you know why walmart doesnt sell cds with explict lyrics
some kid bought a god smack cd and his dad heard it and walmart got in troble so now they dont sell cds with explict lyrics i wish they did though grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I know, I just reckon if your kid's 3 you should be watching what he goes on anyway. No offence meant, just saying what I think.

I reckon it should be more up to the parent. Although there are some god awful parents who think it's appropriate to give GTA to kids. I love the game, but come on, it definately isn't for seven year olds

Cat: I agree you can't really have one post containing lots of different items, but if you made a few items from fimo say, you could post them together. If you made a few plushies, you could post them all together.
I'm sorry if I came across angry, I had had a bad day Happy

I don't know how I feel about age limits, but maybe warnings on the site, just to show that there could be content that may offend you ;)
