I'd much rather have a large distinction between how-tos and creations than how-tos and recipes.
By a large distinction, I mean like a tab. I often get over excited about making something and then discover it's a creation.
Other than that I'd say it's pretty perfect.
Yeah, we've been planning to make tabs for that, so maybe we can have tabs for - all, how-to's, recipes and creations.
I know this may make me sound lazy lol but I would like it if we had a button at the end of each thread page, that either takes you back to the top of the page, or lets you choose to go back to the main board/other forums eg: crafts
Thank you
On the all user blogs it doesn't say who posted them until you actually click on them so at the bottom of each blog could you put who wrote them? Pretty plz
On your profile you should be able to see all your own board posts and board 'new topic' posts and be able to see if you've got replies from your 'new topic' posts
Roma - I've added a switch between all/how to's/creations, is that what you were after? Recipes I'll need to think about...
Opposites - Makes lots of sense, I'll get onto it...
Shivi - The blogs have changed a bit, and there'll be a lot more on the profile side of things soon
When your posting projects if I post a portrait photo is chops parts of it off so it should be able to accept both landscape and portrait photos
have I only just noticed how small the text is? is there something wrong with the text or have you changed it because it's hurting my eyes!
Is it just the font on the board that's too small or all of it? We changed the font across the site.
just in the posts
I may have scotopic sensitivity syndrome and the small black font on a white back ground causes havok! (notice I keep going on about stuff i 'have' because I've not been diagnosed for so long it's weird for me to accept it apart from the maths related difficulty i have anywaaays)
definition: http://www.hale.ndo.co.uk/scotopic/definition.htm that's clever putting tiny writing like that on a site about the syndrome!!
example click on the first link (its not that bad but near enough!): http://www.hale.ndo.co.uk/scotopic/
I get worried my posts are too long and I post too much hahaah oo maybe I could do a snippets article about these things.
I don't know how difficult this would be to set up...but you could have some sort of rating project thing, like five stars, and you could vote on how good or easy the instructions are to follow or whatever
So as well as most favourited and featured, you've got most rated, and maybe that could decide what the featured project is, like whichever project throughout the week got the best rating, that becomes the featured project for the next week. You could maybe go into getting cutoutandkeep points out of that too. Points always make a site popular, even if they don't mean prizes. People just love points.
Roma - +1 point!
Lots of counts (projects/posts/comments)'ll be coming. As for ratings, I kinda want to keep it *positive* - it'd be bad to have your project rated 1 star by people - also, it's really different for different people - a 5-star knitting project isn't great unless you knit...
However, something to rate the usefulness of the project might be cool - maybe flag steps as tricky or hard to follow or something?
What about, if you can give something you like a gold star? So, you don't have to add every project to your your favorites, but you can give the ones you like stars.
it's not really a major problem but me finding instructions hard isn't because of other people it's just cuz of the way my mind works, or doesn't in this case haha
yeh I wouldn't get any points and be aaaaaall sad...even though it is a good idea really though
