Ooh nice one!

I'm hoping to work Underage Festival as part of a charity group. I don't know anything about it, but I like festivals and I like charity!

Underage Festival was the biggest insult ever.

They had Field Day beforehand (which was apparently terribly organised, but let's overlook that for now) and it had brilliant bands like Adem and James Yorkston and every other band I've ever listened to ever, and then they had Underage festival for people the next day. Do we get the same amazing line-up? Course we don't. We get awful, trashy, pointless bands. I nearly died. It was so heartbreaking because all my friends are older than me, I was 17 at the time and my friend was coming to visit from Ireland, she was 18, we really wanted to go to Field Day, but we knew they'd be strict on the ID thanks to the Underage Festival the next day, so we couldn't do anything, we certainly weren't going to Underage.

Sort-of-rant over.

Ah okay =P fairy snuff.

I compiled the list of bands I saw:

KISS, Offspring, Lost Prophets, Apocalyptica, Black Stone Cherry, Alter Bridge, Motorhead, Disturbed, Judas Priest, 36 Crazyfists, Black Tide, Skindred, Lethal Bizzle, Animal Alpha, Municipal Waste, Caimbo, Jon Davis, HIM, Ash, Pendulum, Stone Gods, Children Of Bodom and the Wildhearts.

I don't like all of them but there we go.

I just made a dress out of my massively oversized Download tshirt =)

Went to the Bjork and Sigur Rós concert last night and it was brill!
Ghostdigital were on first and well I didn't like them. Next was Olof Arndals an Icelandic singer, she was pretty good then Sigur Rós who blew me away with their awesomeness again! The lead singer plays his guitar with a bow and this one song they all go mental and he broke his bow in half! fecking cool! For their new single they brought everyone out inc Bjork and they all went mad banging drums and such like it was the best part of the night.
Bjork was great, much like the concert I went to last year, but we were flipping shivering from the cold at this point so we didn't much get into it. Also I think her voice was gone a bit.
All in all a great night and typical of Icelandic weather I got sunburnt and frozen ;)

Glastonburrrry! I got back on Monday evening but I've only just about recovered. Drinking is so much fun.

People who I saw:
Kate Nash (bad, only stayed for about 50 seconds), Ida Maria, Santogold, Annie, The Blockheads, Sinead O Connor, Seasick Steve, Shakin' Stevens, Fanfarlo, Holy Fuck, Black Kids (bad), Neon Neon, Will Young (disappointing), Elbow, MGMT, Jay-Z, Leonard Cohen

I also saw a couple of little bands whose names I don't know, and I walked past a few sets from people like The Feeling and Los Campesinos and hundreds of others I wished I'd been able to see.

The only bands I would have gone to see at glastonbury are The Kings of Leon and Elbow and i would have gone to see Jay-Z too. I find this current wave of indie bands a bit boring and there's a new type where its some boys and girls singing pop thats a bit meh like the Black Kids!

Glad you had a good time though!

bleeeeeurgh the kings of leon! i refused to let my tom go see them. I don't think you could accuse any of the indie bands i went to see as being boring- (apart from Black Kids which was an accident). Ida Maria was an exciting nutty Norwegian woman who screamed a lot, Santogold was a fantastic hip hop rap artist whose songs were constantly exciting, Annie was an electro pop princess who had this amazing crowd relationship, Fanfarlo are indie pop at their finest, Holy Fuck are acoustic electro (kinda...), Neon Neon have just based an entire album on the life of John DeLorean, and one of the lines from their songs goes "I see my reflection in Michael Douglas's mirrored sunglasses" (now don't tell me that that's boring), MGMT are all psychedelic and exciting...

I know what you mean, loads of indie bands like One Night Only and The Kooks and stuff are dullllllll-eh, but there's so much exciting stuff going on too, you just have to look out for it.

that's what I mean as indie thats the definition of it for me, the other bands are more 'alternative' i dunno but stuff like the kooks i meant

I'm loving 'faux-indie', I'm going to overuse it. Kate Nash was awwful at Isle of Wight, she can't hold her notes so she speeds the songs up like x 3. and far too nasal for my taste. Newton Faulkener was good though
I couldn't work Radiohead in the end, but I worked Project Revolution at Milton Keynes, and the bar was opposite the stage so I saw everything! Pendulum were brilliant (cos they only played one of their new songs) and so were N.E.R.D. Linkin Park were ok, but Jay-Z looked OLD.
