Sheila, my daughter is at Download this weekend! I don't know about you, but it makes you me feel a bit old!!!

I think all the best metal bands have been mentioned...except Opeth
You could also try listening to Rammstein

Yeah there were loads of ace bands at download (just got back and still buzzing), but definitely check out the oldies like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth etc. Five Finger Death Punch were good, very interactive with their fans. Stone Sour are brilliant and Slipknot. Steel Panther are quite rude but VERY funny, very 80's hair metal

Others are Annihilator, Andrew W.K. Also check out Roadrunner United ~ The Allstar Sessions (some of the artists signed on the Roadrunner record company all teamed up to record an album - it's ace!).

I could keep going but check those out once you've checked out what everyone else has suggested

Aaw Ruby, Five Finger Death Punch were such dicks! I like some of their songs but not much, and was just getting into them and enjoying them until he was such a complete twat at the end of the set. Steel Panther are amazing if you like piss-take metal bands who are actually talented. Airbourne are more old-school rock but SO VERY GOOD.

Try moving on from metal to industrial too - Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Megaherz etc.

Yeah I did think he was stupid towards the end but they are dedicated to their fans. I think he just got too annoyed by the security that day, and thought f**k it lol. Did you have a good weekend though?

Hi Nora....yep I get that oldie feeling. I go to the Whitby Goth festivals now where the pace is a little more sedentry and the people go back to the comfort of a bed and breakfast rather than sleeping under canvas. I still do the canvas thing for Pagan camp though with the large cooking couldron for an all day stew. Life is simular, but a little slower....LOL

Well, I don't really care for most of the metal bands posted here (just personal preference. don't hate me!) But I do love metal and if you wanted to check out bands from the other side of the spectrum here are some: Bring Me The Horizon, Wolves in the Throne Room, Bloodlined Calligraphy, Dead to Fall, Carnifex, Cattle Decapitation, Pig Destroyer, Goatwhore...But definitely check out the first two!!
