Grrr.. thieves.
While visiting the Miffy exhibition at the National Library in Edinburgh, someone broke in to our locker and got away with two of Tom's bags and one of mine. My one had my laptop in, my favourite pair of shoes and clothes. He took the door straight off, while on CCTV and then chatted to the security guard on the way out. I'm so angry.
I take it they have the dude's picture then though? I guess at least that's something!
Yeah. They told us that they have a fingerprint and suspect today. So fingers crossed.
I hate people who steal. What drives a person to do it?
Mike from Oceansize had a pedal stolen off his pedalboard at a recent gig. Just lifted straight off the board. What kind of person does that?
Oh, I forgot to do an update.
I got my laptop back. Someone bought it at a car boot sale and realized it was stolen. They found my details and called to give it back. So there are some good people out there.
ah wow, im so glad you got it back!
I can't think of anything that irritates me more than someone thinking they have the right to take something that someone else has worked hard for, without any thought about it. I remember when i was little and stayed in a rougher area, an ADULT stole my bike and gave it to their daughter - what kind of parent steals from a child to give to their own?
thank god for the few good people out there
That's terrible. I'm assuming you found the person that did it? What did they have to say about it? Grrr
we knew who did it, but my parents didn't want to do anything about it cause they were complete junkies, probably end up getting stabbed over a bike, wouldn't put it past them >_<
That's awful, poor you and grr to the junkies.
that is really unfortunate to hear, but at least you got the laptop back
Sometimes people dont always steal to be maniacal but rather as a last resort. Initially your first instinct will be of course to get angry but in the end in some cases you can live without it.
when i loose something or something was stolen from me((which luckily hasn't happened too~ often)) i just think to myself that hopefully the person who did it did it as a last resort and/or can benefit from it more then me and will hopefully not have to steal anymore.
Unless its like my personal work or property, then we throw tha' handz!
SO glad you got your laptop back! I think I would die if mine was stolen!
I was mugged back in Ireland, he drove up and jumped out of a stolen car, I had my headphones on so I couldnt hear him, then he cut the strap on my bag(it was across my shoulder) and ran back to the car, I was left with my headphones in my ear and no walkman and no bag! I was in bits!! They never caught him, but some guy found my bag with my keys and my wallet, which was empty. he got a brand new sony tape walkman, burberry perfume, 15£ and that was it I think. Still I was petrified walking down my lane after that.
In France I ran a shop alone, and stupidly let these two girls use my loo, separately and they stole my wallet and my cash for the shop I will never forgive myself for that, that was my fault!
Aww that's awful, you were being nice and they stole from you.
I think it's the fear you get afterwards, when you're looking at everyone as a potential threat, that's the worst bit.
yeh I know thats the thing, I saw one of them again at the train station and almost had a heart attack! I would say she was around 14! grr The scariest was having to go to the police station a few weeks later as they thought they had one of them and i had to go down to the cells to look in on her! MAn that was scary, lots of drunk/druggies puking and screaming! It wasn't her and I ran out of there so fast!!
Eeep that does sound really scary. I've never been to a prison.. luckily.
Eeep scaaary im sorry she wasnt there...
