Is it just me...
NO! don't be worried! I was putting emphasis on your rightness.
I may have put the wrong em-F-as-is on the wrong Sil-AB-le....lol sorry. Olivia was right your name was actually a double use there which is why I had to caps it and exclaim. I get excited a lot ;)
Then I meant the pintrest thing as that is where I keep other lists for ideas so when I post on here I remember to note that i got it from there too, I actually do lost of versions on my co+k page, most are versions.... I even had a a couple from the beginning of my days here where I wasn't sure how to versonify and find the darned project..... my carnation one, I never found that one again and I couldn't remember if it was an actual how to or if I just got the idea and had to find a how to..... now I suppose I could I know the site itself better now. Oh and on my blog 6months or more ago I posted a "creating your own creations" topic... because I was seeing this happen on this site and I have mostly versions of others work meaning I am giving them credit for their work and Ideas and I can't see why the same isn't practiced by others. Additionally some things that are REALLY common like greeting cards...Halmark can have that credit..you know what I mean?
I spelled Hallmark wrong.. I was born speaking english by the way...... mistakes are beautiful, just promise not to make fun of my Spanish or Russian accents....
There is one person who, if you type in ANY of her projects onto Google, will come up with the exact same tutorial on another website. I don't want to be rude or put the blame on her, but if she is using somebody else's tutorial, and getting the credit for herself, that has to be stopped...right?
I don't know... I think it's this person:

I think we all agree that this is very suspicious. But I think the best thing we can do right now is to wait for Cat, Tom and Crafterella to come back from their lovely trip. They will probably investigate this problem and find a good solution. I don't think it's up to us to put an end to this, but, I certainly won't like her projects and give comments anymore.
Cat is Crafterella lol.
Oh but looking at that user's page- 180 projects uploaded in 2 months is very suspicious. Not likely- even if they are all simple projects, the time it takes to take photos and upload a tutorial takes a lot of time. The only way I can see that a person could possibly have that much time in 2 months is if they are copying and pasting.
I've just been having a look around and it looks like she could be the same person as the person posting them on wikihow. The profile pic looks similar and all the projects are the same as on wikihow http://www.wikihow.com/User:Sandylee222 - it could be that she's created a profile here after having one for much longer on wikihow and has been uploading the projects to both sites. Both profiles link to the same website so I'm not convinced that she's stealing them. If she is then she's only taking projects from one specific site and one author which would seem a bit risky if she wasn't the same person.
I'll be honest I'm not sure one way or the other but I'd be interested in hearing her response. I think the best thing to do is to send Cat a message when she and Tom are back from the US and see what comes from that.
I've just read through some of the comments on the wikihow profile and there are loads of accusations and warnings about stealing others work and photos and claiming credit for them. :/ Not looking good.
That and if you look at her profile there she's only been active for 3 months on there and all of works are "cited" as being someone else's but all the links to the original links weren't working for me.
but come to think of it, its not just her...some projects that even seems popular here, if you googled it you will find the exact same one from "creative ideas" websites. and since generally those websites doesn't give any source toward the author, its even harder to say which is which.
I think the site could do with a report button so that if a project is iffy you can flag it so that it is investigated further.
can't agree more on that. this has to stop, and there are way too much projects that also doesn't make sense...perhaps the moderating should also be a little tighter.
same happens to me, PinkWeeds.... I try to open the original links but they won't open for me either... it's a bit strange though, with the same crafts and different people :/
I personally post my projects on my blog, Craftster.org, AND here. Haha I think I am going to post on my blog when I post the project on other sites... However, I try to keep my screen name the same. I'm sure there are other people like me who do that. If someone is literally copying and pasting that is wrong. My first project and how to here was Yoga Pants - Keep that Logo on your TShirt. But I saw the original Yoga Pants EVERYWHERE on several different sites... So I didn't give anyone else credit for it. Because who was I supposed to give it too?? Plus, it was my original idea on how to not cut straight up the shirt anyways. I straight up say "Looking familiar?" on one of the steps because it starts out the same way though. But again, who am I supposed to give credit too.
I post my projects on my blog and occasionally on crafster also, and I'm a lazy crafter- I do one tut and then copy and paste it the second time around. But I also have a link to my blog on my profile so if anyone has any doubts.
