Going to visit family - need advice and to rant

I might, but we'll see.

I'll have to ask if the museum allows any photography at all. I doubt they do but hopefully they will allow some non-flash photography. I want to get pictures of myself in the Greek/Roman sculptures room or at least on one of the marble staircases, lol.

Certain light types can promote deterioration and fading of paints and inks. Camera flashes and fluorescents are the worst, I think.

oh, ok that makes sence. Especially the fading...I get that. You really only think day light. So the lights in Museums, that light the place to see aren't florescent then right..? I don't think I've ever been in a museum before; aquariums and art galleries, but not a museum....

I don't think they are fluorescent, no.

Well, I have some solidified plans with my best friend and her husband, and a friend from art school wants to get coffee or something.

I'm getting so excited now that I'm losing a little bit of sleep, lol.

Mmmm this might be to late but between no way to get around and feeling unwelcomed maybe it's best if you don't stay at home while visiting your home town. See if you can stay with a friend and if you can borrow their car provided that you pay for gas.... It might mean less time with your family but if your parents are going to make it difficult to visit then it's on them.
