Gay Marriage

There are some people who take out of context what's stated in the bible who don't understand separation of church and state. I personally believe it's a basic human right to choose a mate regardless of your age, sex, gender, or orientation.

Unfortunately, the very extreme conservatives are trying to demonize gay marriage. What they don't realize is that gays pay taxes, serve in the military, and work like everyone else does. Moderate republicans, moderate liberals, and extreme liberals seem to all be in favor of gays getting married because it IS a human right that should not have politics attached. It's mostly people like Rush Limbaugh who are brainwashing narrow-minded folks into thinking that only straight white people deserve rights. Luckily, people like that are greatly outnumbered by open-minded, logically-thinking people.

It's the same here in Australia. It seems like the people running the world nowadays are just judgemental, completely wrong people. It's terrible, the way gay people are treated. I don't know whether it's true, or just a rumour, that gay people can't adopt children any more either? If that is true, it takes the whole thing to a whole new level...
But, as it is, I guess we just continue our fight for human rights and equality until, one day, the world becomes a slightly more decent place to be.
Humanity and society are so messed up. It drives me crazy.

Great input ladies. I wish there was really a big (right now) thing to do..... we have such greater issues, like child molesters, and believe it or not BULLIES!! Talking only opens the door.

Of course we have greater issues, but that's a topic always worth talking about. Coincidentally, I just held a presentation + following group discussion in university about that topic plus same sex adoption. Most of us (I'm from Germany) were absolutely in favor of gay marriage & same sex child adoption. only 2-3 people were against it, bringing up reasons like 'It's not natural...' (ridiculous, in my opinion!). We also found lots of shocking material for our presentation! It was just disgusting, like a video from a man of an higher rank (not too high really, can't rememer in detail) who went on how it was not natural to be gay and if - ya'll got your popcorn?? - they would legalize gay marriage this would lead to people wanting to MARRY ANIMALS! Can you believe that?!
I mean, like, people that think THAT wicked WAY are bound to having made love to some sheep already... Jesus Christ!
em.hancy: It is allowed for a gay couple to adopt a child, but only in a few countries and states, in the US it's basically like the East and West Coast you have to imagine. When we were looking up Australia in our statistical part we actually didn't find material neither on marriage nor on adoption... In Germany, it's not legal yet. There are also some wicked laws in the US that allow a gay couple to adopt a child - but only if they're married. Which, especially in these states, isn't legalized yet. Dumb world..

I know gay couples can't get married here in South Africa, they can sign an agreement contract, but it isn't seen as the same thing as marriage.. It's ridiculous. Why should you not be allowed to marry your life partner just because you are the same gender? I hate when people discriminate against others based on things like this that doesn't concern them. It's not going to affect the people who are anti-gay in any way if a gay couple gets married. I just wish they would realise this and leave them the hell alone. People are people and all deserve equal rights, regardless of gender, race or faith, sexual preference, etc.

How they should marry it disgusting visualize it and it rules that attack our ethics and also attacking principles which told us our religions such as the Christian religion and Islamic religion and other where we Atoldna of Male and Female and not of the same sex, how we make them right inbecause unlike morality and reverse the presence of human and this saw my human rights and saw the child in keeping reproductive rights and women and preserve the rights oF
Human preserve the human race and I am a Muslim I respect all people and people in the whole world because it is a religious that obliges me to respect see you and opinions of the people and the world

Humans preserve the humans and abandoned babies need love.... two gays can not make another baby but they can take on as many as fiances would allow and then there would be a home for the already alive ones, instead of blowing them off and making new ones.... as far a nature goes... gays keep population down for lack of reproduction, and can help the homeless children issue! Really. GOD however we call it made us as we are.... I will say again I am not gay, but don't put porn in my face that doesn't have a naked girl getting off, cos I won't get hot...... made as I am!!!!!! BAM! I have also heard that Indians from India only have male relations till marriage..... sooo idk.... we all be different being the same.......
I believe that were God to stand before us all we would be sad to find that Gay's are the most beloved by God, because they are the most fragile... obviously. A gay person lives in fear at times of saying so, they might beat, tortured or killed. So fragile needing so much protection.......

Love is one of the most sacred gifts you can give someone regardless of their gender, colour, creed or religion. If a gay/bi couple want to get married & raise kids then i have no problems with that. its the 21st century ppl not the 18th!

Every single animal/insect species in the world has bi/gay relationships somewhere ....including humans. It IS a Natural thing. The only reason it was ever is a problem is bc humans INVENTED Religion, & took it so seriously.
I agree its a human right. And people that say its not right bc of religion, needs to understand that in this day & age Religion Has Nothing To Do With Marriage Anymore. People get married bc they love eachother now, & bc they want to share their lives, things, insurance, responsibilites, kids legally. No one should be denied that.

I LOVE IT.LADIES! Keep coming, And I don't think "America" or anyone majority really are against it. Any country with white men in power have the issue among themselves and put it on all of us. I mean seriously, how many white REPUBLICAN males get caught with boys then they say gay is bad and the Catholic priests!? All of em! (not all but you know) We gotta tell them to stop putting their personal issues on us!

Someone in my family is gay, I believe he has a right to get married.

There are also some cultures (I think some Indo-Asian cultures) where men can only have relationships with other men before they get married to a woman.

Numerous scientific studies have proven that bisexuality/pansexuality/homosexuality are all a part of animal nature (including humans). There's no "gay" gene to be found--some people are just born with a non-heterosexual preference.

In our society, there's not really a need to HAVE to continue with one man+one woman marriages. We're facing overpopulation BECAUSE so many heterosexual couples are having more kids than they need to (Octomom, Kate Plus Eight, Sister Wives with one man who has 13+ kids, etc).

I've had pansexual tendencies my entire life. I certainly wasn't born straight. I'm programmed to love whoever the hell I want to love.

If people try to criticize me for how I live my life, I can always tell them that I AM HAPPY, which they probably are not.

The tendencies for white right-wing males with SPS to try to govern all life they think should be below them are just despicable. History and science are two fields that are NOT on their side.

Monika I woke up thinking... you know if a woman in my life just happened to walk into my life at any point (obviously not right now) and she was "everything" I was looking for in a relationship...... I would not say what I am capable of because you are right, about being programmed to love whom ever you want! and in secret.... whisper my husband likes the best to look at money shots.. gross righ? but I say to him "Babe it is a guy's thing and a girls face. don't you think looking at that thing and being excited about what it does is a bit... gay...?" He says..... "yes... If you say it like that." I say "exactly. we are turned on by a persons ability to give us what we need physically and emotionally." Not "Gay" at all except it makes me feel GAY!
