Why the hell posts are so slow?!

Ok, so this is my random rant.

I subscribed to a monthly magazine two years ago because I wanted to receive it at home instead of buying it every time. For the first year and a half I always received it within the 8th/10th of the month, and my mail was regular.

Then, in December 2010, they re-organised the mail zones in my city. And trouble started.

Now I receive my magazine around the 20th of the month - even the 28th sometimes! And all the regular mail is so messed up and late that it's just unbelivable.

I was forced to subscribe to online billing for my utilities because all the bills would come in late. I took part in a few swaps here on CO+K and the packages took *ages* to arrive - when they didn't get stuck in customs. I'm still waiting on my ATC swap, after a month or so that my partner mailed hers! A happygram got stuck in customs and I'm still waiting for it after *months*, just because they believe it contained merchandise and I refused to pay the VAT tax to clear it.

Some day - like today - the postman doesn't even show up. I got hold of him last week and he told me sometimes he's forced to deliver only signed mail because he's so caught up with work that he doesn't have time to deliver regular mail.

I complained twice, to the local branch and the head of the national office, and nobody ever took the time to get back to me.

I only have one question: why? Why are things so crappy with the delivery system at the moment? Just explain it to me. Should I rent a PO box? If you guarantee this will get me my mail on time, I will. Just don't leave me here feeling stupid because I don't know what's wrong.

Ironically, the only thing I can suggest is writting letters, and keep going up the chain of command. :/

My post isnt nearly as bad as yours, it just seems to be really inconsistant out here on the island. Sometimes mail from my mom takes 6 days and sometimes it takes 2 weeks! Same size envelopes and everything! My postman and your are probally going out for coffee together on the days they dont show up! Mine makes his own schedual up as he goes, it seems like. I have a mail box that I have to walk down the street to, and its connected to all the other apartments mailboxes (i dont know what thats called) and when I want to mail something, I just stick it in my box which is the same place the postman puts my mail...sometimes he will place my mail in there and not take the things I'm sending....Why? I don understand why he does that! Blah...I feel a little better now too! Thanks Mary! ^_^

Do you know the movie 'The Shawshank Redemption'? That guy writes 1 letter a week to get funds for a library and when he got a small fund he started to write 2 letters a week to get more.
Maybe you should do the same untill you get a responce from the postal service. Just send it without stamps because they cause the trouble so they should pay ;-)

That would seriously piss me off. After all you do pay to have your mail sent off and others pay to have your mail delievered to you ON TIME! Not late. I'd be supper annoyed and writing leters to my government to have them get it fixed. That's ridiculous.

I sent 5 letters one week ago and so far only one has arrived !
My other moan is that the mail does arrive until 4.30 sometimes later.not cool on dark winter nights.

The main problem is that I know exactly where the problem is: when they reorganised the local branches the mail delivery zones passed from 32 to 24 - which means they are much bigger now and postmen struggle to deliver all the mail. My postman once complained that now he finishes his delivery round by 6 pm. And there is no way they are restoring the old delivery zones, that I know for sure.

Trouble is, apparently all complaints have to be submitted to the head office in Rome, and there is no way to complain to the single branches - I had to complain verbally to the local branch, otherwise anything written goes to the head office. But I see no point in complaining to *Rome* when things don't work in *Turin*! Another problem is, I can't file a new complaint before someone answers the old one. This way I'm stuck and I can't send more, which sucks.
