Retarded shop owners =\
I don't think i could have possibly been more annoyed today at all. I have been waiting the past week to go in this shop cos i haven't been able to afford going there for quite some time now.
I'm right near the counter and the bloke can clearly see what i'm doing it's like STOP STARING AT ME I AM NOT GOING TO BLOODY STEAL YOUR THINGS!!!!!!!
It really gets on my nerved so bad. Like bim young yeah i get that. But iv'e been into so many shops where they practically sit up your ass the whole time you are there =| its like ok, im not going to steal but u are making me paranoid as hell by following me into isles of the shop .... what the hell. Like i was at the counter paying for items and i had them in my hand still but he couldnt have taken them out my hands quick enough o.O it's like how rude can you be. I'm paying u good money just as any one els and you rudely watch me like a hawk .pfft
Has this happend to anyone else ?/
OMG the same thing happened to me. When i went to Rome over the summer we went into Salvatore Farragamo (don't know how to spell it) it is a very very posh expensive shop!!! I am not rich so i obviously didn't look it. There was a young man standing behind the perfume counter and i sniffed one of the tester perfumes and he saw me. So he followed me and my parents when we looked around the shop. We didn't buy anything because lets face it EXPENSIVE SHOP!! They were way nicer in prada. And plus last year when i went to Florence I went to the salvatore farragamo HQ and i felt like saying give me some space to that pushy guy in the store. I WILL NOT STEAL YOUR STUFF AAAGGHHH!! LOL
~Ruth~
Oh honey... if anyone ever tries to be THAT RUDE to me... well, I was brought up to be a snobby, rich trophy wife, so I can give them a good what-for. ;) (And yes, I am poor, and Shlomi isn't exactly in the market for a trophy wife, and yes, it was my mom's pipe dream. :-P But you know.)
I worked in retail before and the manager usually made me follow people we knew were thieves. Like there was this mother and daughter duo that would come in and steal. One of them would distract the salesperson and the other would switch the tags on the items. We knew they were doing it, we could see on the computer that the $39.99 shirt we were holding in our hands was NOT a pair of $4.99 pants. Of course we couldn't call them on it. No shocker when the store closed. Then there was a family that the parents would let their kids run around the store and the parents would stuff a few items in their bags. Someone saw them doing it but apparently something can only be done if a MANAGER sees it happening.
Lol!
I wanted to say something but it's like i can't bring myself to be rude to them as i know i will be shopping there again. It wasn't an expensive shop either!!!
It's just like one huge store with 5 stalls inside it. They all sell hello kitty and manga stuff. Costing like £5+
I don't like people constantly looking at me as it is. Makes me so paranoid. It makes you uncomfortable to shop. Wether you are poor or wealthy or look poor or wealthy the shop keepers should treat you no differently like im there to spend my money on their products. Also would i be DUMB enough to do it right in front of his eyes Like noo joke. We were a ft away from eachother.
I can say if i didnt have my daughter with me i probably would have mouthed off.
I hate it when employees are like "Can I help you with something?" It's like "no, I didn't ask, so obviously I don't need anything". I know the company forces them to do it, I was forced to do it when I was working. But it just scares off customers. People like to be left alone while they shop. I will leave if you bug me.
I use to have that problem a lot more than I do now. I had blue hair at one point, and I've got a couple facial piercings, and it didn't matter what store it was, from a craft store to a grocery store, I'd be followed. What annoyed me more was when my hair grew back in as dark brown, it mostly stopped.
The worse time was a couple years ago, a friend and I went to our local mall, and the mall security guard followed us for 3 1/2 hours. Into every single store. He even watched us while we ate in the food court. And us being like 16, we figured if we didn't say anything he would just stop. Nope. He did it every time we went until we had to go to his boss to make it stop. It was horrible.
Ew, that is creepy about the mall guard!!! It's a good thing you eventually went to talk to his boss.
I remember going into V.S. back in the USA, and they would pretty much ASSAULT you every 30 seconds--literally. I would go in there and time it. 30 seconds, I'm telling you. A few times I just walked out because it was too overwhelming.
It's the same way with a certain cosmetics store here, as well, except the shop people are all 60-70 year-old women who look 20 years older than they are, with BAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDDDD makeup in the wrong skintones caked onto their already-suffering epidermal layer. They're like 'ho-makeup zombies in that store, I swear. I have to rudely inform them that IIII am a professional, not them, and they DO NOT know what is good for ANYONE'S skin, so to back off, or they just don't get it. In fact, I've since stopped shopping there. They have Chanel in the drugstore here, anyway, so PPFFTT. :-P
Yeahh ive had this problem since i was 12 all down to the fact that i have "odd " hair and piercings =/ like my sister or friends dont have this problem . And ive noticed that a lot.
The worst time was when i went into the bodyshop to get some makeup and thats a tiny store and this huge security guard followed me around constantly and was like can i help you and i was like well mate unless you know wether this foundation has some kind of sunscreen in it....im ok thanks he just left me alone after being as he just looked like a buffoon :')
Happens to me and my boyfriend allllll the time. And I know it's just because we wear black and have tattoos. We went into American Eagle and EVERYBODY in there was staring at us the whole time. It was rather annoying.
I've grown to it now. Like i expect it now. But think about it that's rather wrong. I Shouldn't expect to be stared at or gawked at =| I know that's life but doesn't that make you sick. Like your not " trusted" in a shop because of the way you look.
Vernoies: The next time people are staring at you ask politely if they would like a photograph and may last longer ;p
Haha!! I say the picture thing!! That usually stumps people and they're like "WHAT?!" lol. I'm not heavily tattoo'd or peirced but some people just gawk for no apparent reason (not implying here that people are allowed to gawk if you have tattoos and peircings...)
As for being followed, I got that everytime I went to the supermarket. The thing is though you have to think about it... All the people that have been caught stealing are probably people your age or around your age, so they have to be wary. They're not just ganging up on you! :S
However, standing a foot away from you is just plain ignorant. Tell him to jog on next time you're in that shop! Lol :p
Exactlyy! That's my point! I was a foot away and it's like hey mr...you can stop staring at me now like i'm going to take everything you own away from you :')
I can totally respect that they have dumbass kids taking stuff it's next to a rather dodgy place where there are trouble makers. But when i have the money in my hand and he can clearly see what i'm doing. XD
I had this problem when I moved from a big city to a small town. In the city colored hair and piercings are more common so nobody pays attention. HUGE change. I don't get the distrustful thing as much as random old guys making sexual remarks. Once it happened while I was in the Dollar store getting craft stuff. This man around 65 brushed up against me in passing and said something very offensive so I said "Get the fuck away from me!" apparently my voice projects, and he took off while everyone turned to look at him. I don't usually cuss, but it's disgusting how men think that just because your a young woman they can say whatever they want to you. That is one time you should speak up and not care what people think!
i did volunteer work in a shop a while ago (it's a fairtrade shop) and everyone that i know dislikes the shop because the little old ladies that work there are ALWAYS staring at you. especially if you're a teenager, and even more if you're a teenager with a group of friends. a lot of people actually stopped going there because of the staring and the immediate 'can i help you?' when you walk in.
when i was working there, i found out why they stared like that...
it's actually in the rules.
the store loses a lot of customers because of the employees being annoying..but in the rules it actually says that they have to stare and everything.
so stupid.
and felicity- eww! old guys making sexual remarks- gross.
