demonstrations not so demonstrative
i've been cruising this site, so far it's pretty cool. if i had time form school and work i'd be putting up some stuff (i've been taking lots of pictures of my work in different stages for this site). however, i have noticed that people are just posting projects and not posting any steps on "how to". i mean that is the point of the site am i correct? i came across one "project" that was random drawings of anime characters titles "my drawings" (or something to that effect). post that shit on myspace or deviant art, this is a step by step type of thing, idk i just take these sorts of things serious. nothing is worse than getting exited about a cool project pic and then seeing no instructions. if that's the case i guess i'll just stick to figuring shit out for myself.
The sites not just for people to post how tos. You can also share pictures of your creations as well as post pictures of any versions of other peoples how tos. I can understand that this may be frustrating if you want to have a go at making something some one has posted and they haven't said how they did it but most people will respond to questions or requests for how tos.
yes we would respond, sometimes the how to may be to complicated to post
Yeah, on this site you DON'T have to post a how-to to everything you post. If you want a how-to for something, normally the poster will add one if possible if you ask for one. But I do hate the how-tos that are posted with no pix. Now of course the ones for patterns to crochet or knit something is different, you just gotta know how to read it.
I'm getting so bored of people showing up and deciding that the site should be run their way. This isn't a big website, Cat just runs everything and she listens to us and what we want - so when we as a group said that we'd like a versions option so that people won't replicate how-tos she went with that, and when we said we wanted to show what we did without having to take photos she was fine with it, cause she just wants to make everyone happy (the main reason I do creations instead of versions is because I don't have a camera and don't want to write without photos). If you don't like the creations, then only check out the how-tos, or go to another site; there are plenty out there. So no, it's not the point of the site - the point is to enjoy crafting because it's a free and welcome art form, not a totalitarian way of life. And don't call people's work shit, please.
Well said KK cuz I'm sick of the newbies too who have a problem with this site. You can browse it first before joining, if you don't like it then don't join just to complain.
I know we were didcussing this on the random rants as well. It seems to be a current trend among the newer users.
and like I told the new users who post rude messages on peoples projects, its their project. This site is about sharing and having fun, inspiring others.
One of the great things about this site is its friendliness and generosity and I agree, although I haven't been here that long, there seems to be a whole lot of really new people joining up to moan. It kind of begs the question 'why?????' Life's depressing enough at times without taking the fun out of the enjoyable bits.
thats right, we are so supportive of each other here
and i love my Co&k family these new ppl are a bit...well you fill in the blank there. What Cat does is an honor and I am so glad she takes care of us! Seriously if you do not like what you see then take your negative self to another site. I RAWR at you!
I agree, no more negative
love love love...
all we want is love
Tell that to the newbies!
