Shop Closure Annoyance
I was just wondering if anyone might be able to help me out, last year I was selling jewellery in a shop but in January the women just closed the shop without telling anyone. Since then I've been trying to contact her by giving letters and notes her brother that runs a pub in town but I still haven't heard anything from her and she has all my jewellery and my uber awesome shoelace lunch box. I didn't have a contract with her; she was just selling them and keeping 10% for herself. I don't care about any of the money she owes me or anything; I'd just really like my stuff back.
Unfortunately I don't know where she lives, her phone number or anything else. I'm moving soon to the other side of the country and I'd really like my stuff back, does any one have any ideas or advice?
Anything advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
*high five*
Oh noes! That is horrible news. I am not quite sure how legal stuff works over there but I am sure someone on co&k should have some advice. Good luck in finding her, is there any way the shop owners left a forwarding address..meaning if you wrote a letter to where they were the mail people will forward their mail to their current location? ((hugs)) Where you moving too?
how about checking the city hall, she must of registered the business, they could have her address
um also if you have to check with attorney general if you can't contact her take your contract in and tell them the situation and they should be able to help you
Ah I hadn't thought of the town hall, think i'll go there tomorrow. Thanks michelle.
Unfortunately I didnt have a contract with her she was just selling them on my behalf and keeping a cut of the takings, so i've nothing to proove she has them, not sure if this would affect getting legal advice or not.
it may, always get things in writing or email
