Past Life Regressions
Has anyone ever had one of these done, or are interested in trying? I find it a very interesting concept! I would love to do it mainly as a possibly way to overcome my huge fear of death. Also, I feel that many childhood fears and possibly even my panic attacks could have root in another life. And for anyone who doesn't believe in this sort of thing - the best thing I've learned is to take what you want and leave the rest! ^.^ Anyway as I child, I didn't like showers, was terrified of the dark, being alone, of losing my family, had night terrors, etc, etc. I thought it was intersting that in Europe, I had a crystal reading and this woman said that she felt I may have been a gypsy child who died in a concentration camp. I think it would be very interesting just to see!@
As a child (and even now) I was terrified of the dark, hated small spaces and can't stand the heat, or a heater in a small space. It wasn't until I was about 23 that I actually started sleeping without my light on. It was so bad that I had panic attacks in my sleep and would wake up petrified. A few years ago I saw one of Australias top pychics and without even telling her about these problems she bought them up. From what she told me a couple of hundred years ago people used to come to me and I'd make up herbal remedies for their illnesses. This in turn led to some people thinking I was a witch. I was hunted down, locked in a small, dark, hot dungeon and slowly starved to death. I almost fell off my chair when she told me this as it explained why I felt this way....It has made things easier now that I know why I feel like this. I've sorta overcome my fear of the dark but I still can't stand small enclosed places or hot air, just the thought of it is enough to give me a panic attack.
That's amazing that she was spot on!! I think it would be so neat to have one done! If we can overcome obstacles from the past affecting us today - how awesome would that make the future! And what a story to tell! ^.^
I find it rather strange that people with "past lifes" (sorry, I'm really not a believer) never were something uninteresting like a normal person. And ironically that's what they are themselves. And that is in no way intended as an insult or to make people feel bad. There are over 6 billion people in the world, why this urge to be special? I think it's just another way to give meaning to life, like believing in a higher spirit. For me the meaning of life is life itself. I took me years to accept that but now I'm fine with that. Does any of you watch Derren Brown? Seeing him do what he does gave me new insights.
I think the fears you have are rather normal, lots of people have them. Some just more than others. They are very useful fears in terms of surviving. But nowadays we don't need them so much as our hunting/gathering ancestors did. I believe those feelings can grow very strong because of bad (but forgotten) experiences, the way your parents dealt with your fears, stories you heard that had an impact on you etc.
ps: I consider myself of one of the normal uninteresting people too.
I don't really see it as a need to be special - it's just interesting. Plenty of people have been nice and normal - but it seems to me like a lot of things that are considered special now would have been normal in a previous time. Like healers, and people tried as witches - they were normal people but just lived in a crazy time. And who knows? Maybe we don't reincarnate, but it's certainly a fun notion to play with ^.^ Also, if having regressions helps some people with things they've struggled with for ages - whether it's an actual regression, or something our subconscious makes up - if it helps someone, then I don't suppose it matters. I have no doubt that we only live once as who we are today, but I dunno - it doesn't seem like we can learn all we need to in one shot. If someone was born into wealth and riches, they would potentially never learn what it's like to be poor and vice versa. Like I said, whether it's an actuality or not, it's certainly something to think about! ;)
to other gypsies, a gypsy child is "normal." the concentration camp would have to do solely with the time and place in which the child lived.
It's certainly a very interesting concept. Considering the number of people who have lived on this planet I don't think it odd that everyone could have an 'interesting' past life- It's the bit where you end up having multipule stints as royalty that I get suspicious about. (well, that and the 20 odd Cleopatras/ect...) I definitely consider it a topic that needs more research- and one where you need to pick your practioners carefully. That said, if it helps someone deal with issues in their life, and it's not doing any harm, why not? I'd be curious give it a go myself...
Yeah I totally would not believe someone if they said I was someone famous reincarnated. But I've often wondered about it. Not sure whether I believe it or not but it's definitely interesting.
I find it interesting, do I belive in it, not fully. But I would give it a go for fun
I've been told numerous times that I was, in a past life, an Israelite slave in Egypt. Here I am in Israel today, lol! Of course, I also have the same look, persona, and bday as Marilyn Monroe, so who knows?!?! :-D
I have to disagree with you Marieke. I don't think in any way seeing someone or seeking out info on past lives is a way to make me feel special. As an Australian Aboriginal I'm quite broadminded when it comes to the spiritual world. I have been bought up with my own beliefs, that to the outside world would seem strange but to me is normal. Because others don't understand my beliefs does not make me think for a second that what my people have believed in for thousands of years is a fallicy. I don't base my life around the reading, nor do I go out of my way to seek this information but I do keep an open mind to the possibility. And like Gypsie said, it's interesting
I'm on the fence about the idea ,but it sound's interesting. How I could have lived in another lifetime and how it affects my life now. I would love to do one ,but I wouldn't put too much into it. I had a friend do a tarot reading on me. It didn't give me any clear answers about it ,but they kept calling me a knight.
I think I would probably have to agree with the majority I' not a big believer in higher powers and such, but it does sound interesting, I would consider doing one for fun but would take it very light-heartedly. However as most of us have said, whether or not we actually are reincarnated or not, if it helps others in any way and is doing no harm I see no problem in it, after all no 1 human is the same, we all have different beliefs and perceptions on life - so long as they are not harmful to themselves or others
I, like Gypsie moon and am a complete believer, through my own experiences, my auntie has had pastlife regression she suffered pains in her neck, and through regression she discoverd she was a native american woman who died trying to protect her childern from the "white men", and was stabbed in the neck and died. I also belive i was a gypsy in the concentration camps, i probably sounds like a complete nut, lol but soon my mum is going to take me to a museam soon to see a display about the holocaust. ive had strange experiences all my life, despite being a very logical person. My sister says i frightened her one night because i woke up speaking different language to her and asking her questions, in the morning i didn't remember any of it.
