IT'S (nearly) CHRIIIIISTMAAAAS!!

Sorry about this random post, it's just that I'm starting to get into the Christmas spirit, I'd love to have done the Not-So-Secret-Santa Swap, I've been sooo busy though Happy

Anywho... I changed my name to something a bit more Christmassy, I hope you all like it!!

What's your FAVOURITE thing about Christmas? I love the Christmas songs, like the old ones done in like the 80's or something... as well as the decorations... hhmm I might start doing that today Happy

Mine would be a draw between the Christmas meal and the traditional Christmas sauna... Not that different from the normal 1-2 times a week we warm up the sauna, but it has a special feel to it. Knowing that all you need to worry about for the rest of the evening is whether or not your pants are stretchy enough and just sitting there completely relaxed. It's magical really... And I'm not talking about a "steam room". A real sauna is a whole other level of awesome.

And once you get out and cool off, a magnificent feast is waiting to be devoured. Ham, turkey, salmon, escalloped potatoes, etcetc... Just a great night all around.

I love decorating the house and making things for ppl that i love. I have to have the Christmas scented candles(cinnamon or the pumpkin spice) going on in my house. I also love watching the classic movies on tv with the girls and I especially love going to the Nature in lights over at our lake its like a 40 minute drive thru the lake with all sorts of Xmas lights on! oh and the food!! I cant wait for the food festivities to begin!!

Usually somewhere in august I start singing christmas songs and longing for winter and christmas. I'm not religious so I consider it to be a pagan light party that you should celebrate with family and friends.

I'm not religious either Marieke which is why I think I depend on cheesy Christmas songs to put me in the spirit

Aww Eve_Romance, well I suppose it's nice to hear another person's perspective on Christmas.
The food I could give or take though, sure you eat stuff you probably normally wouldn't the rest of the year, but everyone goes soooo over the top and gorges themselves to bloatation (me included)!! I do love the snowy landscapes, but it usually snows on my birthday - it did last year and I was stuck in doors coz they stopped all of london's public transport!!

Correct me if I'm wrong Eve. but I just thought why you might not like the Christmas spirit (and it makes perfect sense to me), that it shouldn't take something as articficial as Christmas to put us in a happy and bubbly spirit, it would come naturally to us all year round?? It's just a thought, if I'm wrong never mind. But I think that my thought may have some truth to it...
... why doesn't life make us feel as warm and fuzzy as Christmas makes most of us?

S'cuse my ramblings.
