Wedding help!!
I decorated a plain basket to hold the confetti and made a ring pillow
ohhh pretty pretty
Only 2 weeks to go!! At least things are falling into place!
For our wedding favors we decided on fortune cookies, to fit in with the semi-Chinese theme we have going. We wrapped each fortune cookie in a silver serviette and attached a 'Thank you' card
We wanted underplates but our budget didn't allow for this, so instead we took white doilies and spray painted them red. Am very happy with the result!
Am busy making the church leaflets. I found gift wrap that I really liked for the cover!
Amazing Job!!! dont forget to relax too!!!
Fantastic! I love the pillow and basket, they came out gorgeous. Oh, something I just remembered I made for my first wedding(Tracy knows, but everybody else, I'm divorced and planning an August wedding)~~We were given a pair of toasting flutes, with 'Bride' and 'Groom' etched on them, and I'd seen in a wedding mag glasses you could order, which had 'genuine Swarovski crystals' and itty bitty pearls wrapped around the stems with sterling silver wire. I had some iridescent and clear crystal bicones left over from a jewelry project, and I used regular jewelry wire(couldn't shell out the dough for sterling). I only used that on the 'bride' glass, and took narrow black ribbon and wrapped the 'groom' glass, with a tiny bow at the bottom. So they were dressed as a bride and groom. I think it looked pretty, and it was cheap. I bought wire Easter baskets, when they went on sale after Easter(my wedding was in October), that had garnet, yellow, and sage green colored beads on them, because they matched my theme(fall colors), and threaded red ribbon through the top edge and handles of each. I had 2 flower girls. I added a matching red ribbon to the ring pillow, which I think was either given to us or we bought at a dollar store. I made a cool flower crown for myself, using store bought pearly white polymer clay flowers(each was about the size of a fingertip), and twisted the floral wires they were on together, then wrapped more of my beloved red ribbon around the stem bits, and tied a long bow at the back. I don't particularly like the veil tradition(my mother was irritated at this...), and that was my substitute for a veil. That was the Gypsy dreamer in my coming out!
Something I didn't get to do, but had planned to, was for centerpieces on the buffet~~glass punch bowls filled with red delicious, golden delicious, and Granny Smith apples, also to go with my color scheme. Much cheaper than flowers!!! Each of my bridesmaids held a single flower(may have been a rose, can't remember, as my sisters threw that bit together the day of), with trailing ribbons attached to them.
Plans for my soon-to-be wedding: my dress is tea length, and spaghetti strap, so instead of trying to get my maids to pay for some funky weird matchy matchy dresses they'll never wear again, I've told them to pick sundresses they like, in shades of purple. Fiance's fave color is hunter green(but we're doing it in a park, so that would disappear), and I decided sage would be better. My fave is red, but that would look too Christmasy together, so my second fave is indigo. That may be sort of hard for my girls to find, thus shades of purple. I'm obsessed with Offbeatbride.com...can you tell? We may all go barefoot, or in flip flops....HIPPIE WEDDING!!!
We have our center pieces all figured out! We bought red silk flowers (marked down 75%), dried decorative grass and my fiance made beautiful wooden decorative sticks with dowel sticks and branches that were cut into discs that we spray painted with red spray paint. For vases we are using Bavarian Beer Glasses (75% cheaper than glass vases) and they work perfectly! We are going to put some cellophane in the 'vases'
And yesterday we MADE our wedding rings from Art Clay Silver! I made Johan's ring and he made mine! It was a totally awesome experience - one we will never forget!
Check it out!
What a lovely idea with the ring making, individual and special
Those rings are so awesome!! We're ordering ours from etsy, they're titanium, and it'll only be $80 for the pair. We better be seeing some pictures pretty soon, Miss Tracy!!!
I know you won't be reading this now Tracey but I hope you have had a lovely day. I'm sure we'd all love to see piccies real soooooon xxx
I can't believe i missed this thread before and just started reading it tonight. I then saw the date and thought, thats yesterday. I hope everything went well and you had a lovely day. My sister got married last October and hers was on a tiny budget too. Her dress was £20 of Ebay and a couple of her friends helped make the cake, bouquet, button holes and decorate the hall where they had the reception. They made butting out of old bits of fabric they had knocking round between them and it was really nice seeing people recognise little bits and remember what it was from. It went really well and they had a lovely day and I think the fact that it was all done on a budget added to it. It felt really special.
I hope you had a lovely day and that you've had a bit of time to chill out too.
I hope you and your husband had a fantastic day after all your efforts and preparations.
Blessed be
Our wedding (and my dress) turned out great in the end! We even made the wedding cake!
