Small gifts for brother to send overseas?

My brother is 20 and he is leaving for a month overseas with school. I just recived a message from a cordanator about it saying that they have a program set up. Friends and family members write letters and send small gifts with the cordanator and she gives them to the students everyday of the trip. What small, non fragile things can I make for him? Thanks so much!

Maybe like, knitted/crocheted accessories and stuffed little toys (love mochimochi land). I also just bought Collage Discovery Workshop by Claudine Hellmuth and it has a whole bunch of techniques and how to's done with like, awesome painted backgrounds and picture transfers and a whole bunch of really awesome mixed media type things, like, maybe a collage done on one of those super mini canvases would be fun to receive. T-shirts can also be packed up super small if you get those like, impractical tissue-thin tees that come in the three-packs in the men's underwear aisle. Could always make him one of those.

Oh, also keychains and maybe like, personalized school supplies. My grandpa used to do the most diy things with office supplies/everything in the world. Like, he had made magnetic pencils that stuck to the fridge/other metal places. Or you could buy a set of metal stamps and stamp something into wooden pencils.

Could also make him a mini picket notebook. Like, totally redo the cover, or go all the way and make the paper with a super mini frame (I've bought them at Michaels before for like, 2 bucks with a coupon) and staple some window screen or pantyhose to it, then like, make the pulp with either recycled paper or cotton fabrics (which you have to boil first, but I won't go on with the whole paper making process since there are tons of tutes online) then when the paper's dry, you could sew all the sheets together with a leather/other fabric upper/backing. Everyone loves pocket notebooks! Or not, lolz.

I love all Emily's ideas, also how about customizing a set of small headphones, phone/mp3/ipod accessories, if he's into those types of things, infact, what kind of things does he like? That'd probably help us with ideas towards what you could make for him Happy

my daddy is getting deployed next month. the best thing to send is something personal. yes, they will be board, but send something small, they wont have time to play a game of monoply as soon as their shift ends. get him something useful; a pillow, snacks, shampoo, AFEES gift cards( afees is like the bx, afees also has money clips used for telephone calls which can be very useful. maybe even a movie or two. since my daddy is getting deployed next month im normally really bad at calling him and keeping contact so this year i decided to send hima care packages. from hearing stories of past deployments he says how hot it is their, so sunscreen, sunglasses, and major nessesties like underwear and muscle tees.(: hope i helpedd

Kenadie watch what snacks you send, anything with food coloring molds like crazy before it can get there no matter what you pack it with to keep the moisture out

Ooh ATC's with crosswords that sounds cool.
Bookmarks regular or corner ones if he like books with little cartoons posted on them are fun.
Tiny crossword books would be fun too.You can use the Green book how to to create any 8 page book so options are endless for that one.
