It sounds crazy, but every time I see a solitary magpie, I have to bow, or say hello. My mother told me this when I was younger and I've been doing it ever since. I also squeel with delight when I see a couple of magpies, because that'll bring good luck Happy

Salt being dropped on the table, have to throw a handful over my left shoulder...can get a bit messy at times Tongue

New shoes on a table, I screamed when my brother put his new trainers on the coffee table once, and he gave me the biggest quizzical look! xD

Black cats are actually a sign of good luck in some cultures, but I absolutely adore cats, so seeing a black one would never bother me. xD

I'm not really that suspicious but for some reason I have hung onto one since uni - I also say hello to solo magpies - I can't even remember what the reason is but I still make a regular twit of myself greeting them all Happy

I guess I'm quite superstitious in my own way. I won't cross on the stairs, never put new shoes on the table, I always salute solitary magpies, throw salt over my shoulder if i spill any (I can never remember if its left or right so I do both)I always say touch wood and find something wooden to tap, never open an umbrella indoors. I'm also a believer in kharma and the rule of three, anything you hand out will be returned threefold. But I'm not fussed by black cats or friday the 13th, if anything I find them to be lucky

I believe in Ghosts. Here's why: I was doing my hair in my room, and there was no one in the house. Out of nowhere hairspray bottle, sat on the desk, starting spraying on it's own for about 5 seconds. Freaked out, I went downstairs and saw my cat. She just stared at something behind me, hissed, and ran out of the room. I never found out what it was, and I have never been so terrified.

Today I thought, Friday 13th bad luck? yeah right! And I went to meet my friends for a birthday coffee and scone treat at John Lewis. I dropped a cherry from my scone. Mmust be friday 13th. My friend dropped a small piece of her scone. It must be friday 13th. Then we walked through the shop and my trainers were rubbing and hurting (M.B.F.13th!) and went to nip to the loo but my friend skidded, conked her head and shoulder on the wall and we heard a crunch. We feared she'd broken her nose and dislocated her shoulder. She was conscious but no one could move her because of 1:The pain in her arm and shoulder weighing her down. 2: She's diabetic we couldn't risk it. SO after an hour waiting for the ambulance and (meanwhile) the wonderful care and attention from the J.L First Aid and their Staff and the speedy arrival of our friend's husband, they were able to sit her up, cool her down, give her oxygen and get her ready for a trip to the hospital. She was constantly in good spirits (despite pain) she and her best friend, kept us all positive =)

Must be Friday the 13th!

Also, my birthday is April 9th. April birthday's lucky number is 9. Aeries luck number is 9.

We don't cross cutlery or chopsticks on a plate or else there may be conflict and we don't cross on the stairs else someone may fall! And we don't walk under ladders!

I don't really have many superstitions; I do really hate crossing on the stairs though, and I think it's rude when people don't respect other people's superstitions! And I very strongly believe in Karma!! Happy x
