About
Hello, my name is Echo. I am a mother of two older teens, an Army Veteran, former 4-H Leader, former Girl Scout Leader, and currently sit on our county's new Sexual Assault Task Force, and run & operate a parrot rescue.
I love arts and crafts. Both my parents were very creative in their own ways, and I learned to express myself through art and craft projects at their knees. We never had much money, as a kid or as an adult. So, if I can revamp an old item, create something new from something broken, or create some really cool stuff for next to nothing you can count me in!
I've also been a hobby photographer for over 30 years, having learned from both my parents as soon as I could walk- they were professional photographers. So, thanks to being allowed to share here, I'll also be including some of my favorite photography that I have taken over the years.
My favorite "color" is black. I love alternative rock, zombies, vampires, shape-shifters, fairies, dragons, wizards, mythology. I also love the mystical, paranormal, and supernatural.

So, its that time of year again (meaning holidays), and with money being tighter than ever we are making all our gifts again this year. Last year was a huge success, and I hope this year will be even better! LOL So, thank you ALL who contribute with projects on this site- you provide wonderful ideas and inspiration! I hope I do your projects justice- those that I fell in love with as is (or my daughter or friends have), and that you don't mind the changes I've made on other projects that inspire new ones. I still wouldn't be able to do it without you- you guys & gals are my muse, and I thank you will all my heart.
Don't hesitate to contact me regarding any of my projects. I'd be more than happy to help or provide suggestions, etc. if possible.
For those of you new to this site and its wonders, here are a few great places to stock up on crafting and sewing supplies, as well as inspiration for new projects:
Dollar Store (if any still exist, most have closed down in our area of WA)
Dollar Tree
Goodwill
Value Village
Other- Other thrift and 2nd Hand stores
Walmart- Craft & Clearance Section
Michael's Crafts- be sure to check out their current sales & clearance section. Often once a week they put out a coupon for 50% or 40% any one single item, no minimum purchase required. This is how I am able to get my bigger ticket items.
Jo-Ann's Fabrics (I might have misspelled name, if so, I apologize)-be sure to check out their current sales & clearance section.
Target- especially their $1 & Bargain Bins.
Yes, I know I've been going a bit craft-batty. LMAO Here have barely been a member of this great site for a little over a month, and I almost have 100 projects done already! hahaha
OK, truth- yes, I usually have to devote most of my time to other endeavors. However, with as bad as our finances are this year, we are CRAFTING all of our gifts this year- and as I'm sure you've guessed if you have checked out my projects, we have a large family. So, others are picking up my slack around here while I craft away for the holidays.
After New Years, things will start going back to normal, and I'll probably be lucky to get a few craft projects done in a month!
Wishing us ALL a better New Year-
Your Friend,
Echo
Everything in my favs list is something I "plan" to do. When, I don't know. Sometimes your items inspire a twist, or something all together new using whatever it was about your projects that has inspired me.
Once I've created my "version" or "creation", I only delete the favs from the list so I don't get confused about what I have done or haven't done. I give a lot of my finished projects away- either my friends or my daughter always wants them (LOL, I guess that's good, eh?). I just wanted to say that so someone's feelings weren't hurt if I later removed the "fav" from my "fav" list. Hope ya all understand!
