About
could be made for another pet if template is made bigger.
I made this for my new budgie as i noticed she loved sitting ontop of my curtains like a hammock. As budgies get bored i thought to make her a hammock to repace her swinging perch. The template above is my own template and i must say i havent tested the hammock out yet!
Im sorry if my method isnt understandable and if you have any questions then just ask

You Will Need
-
Step 1
Print out the template to the size you want (bigger if you have a bigger pet!)
-
Step 2
Get some recycled fabric (thicker the better as the hammock will be stronger, i used fleece material from an old bommer jacket), fold it in half so when you pin the template on and cut you have 2 pieces. If you have patterned fabric then make sure the pattern is not facing up towards you because when you sew it will be inside out when you turn it through.
-
Step 3
Pin the template and cut 1cm extra for space when sewing. Remove the template but pin both pieces together on all sides ready for sewing. Sew along 3 sides and the forth side make sure you leave a gap (enough to turn it through facing the right way.
-
Step 4
Turn the sewn piece back inside out so pattern is right way up, turn in a small seem on the gap and hand sew.
-
Step 5
Now the main body of the hammock is done. . . . Using scrap pieces, i created a loop on each corner and sewn it on the main body. This is so when you put the jewelery chain loops to the sewn scrap pieces.
-
Step 6
with the jewelery chain, cut 2 small equal pieces for the back and cut 2 longer pieces for the front. Loop through the loops and attatch a jump ring through the both ends and attatch an earring hook to it and clos it. Repeat this on all four corners.
-
Step 7
And voila. I will be attatching the short jewelery chain ends on the side in the cage and the long jewelery chain ends to the top of the cage
