The 'Crafty Kit' Swap
Hey everyone! This is my first time hosting so please bear with me!
Have you ever wanted to try a new craft but not had the equiptment or know-how to do it? This is what the crafty kit swap is for!
This idea is to make 'kits' for our partners that will include pretty much everything required to make the finished item with directions on how to do it.
I also want to include 'tools' for crafting. Rather than stash this is equiptment for making eg. templates, yo-yo puff makers, transfers, cases or storage items etc.
So ... send out items will be...
1 x craft kit
2 x craft tools
I'm gonna keep if small as a guideline but speak to your partner if you want to send more or if you only want to send a kit and not tools etc...
PARTNERS:
Mary & Tamara
Pam & Julie G.
Libby & Dragoness
***You must have completed Newbie vs. Vet to participate in this swap***
I'm going to try and match people up as per the kits/tools they want to recieve. Once you are partnered you can browse your partners projects for ideas of kits you'd like to recieve.
Sign up: Friday 27th April
I'll post partners on the Saturday 28th April.
Send out: Monday 14th May
Please be aware that people may presume that you have basic things like an iron/ironing board or jewellry pliers etc. If you don't please specify in the other comments section of the form.

CRAFTS YOU DO / KITS YOU COULD PROVIDE:
I crochet, hand and machine sew, embroider and jewelry make including wire-wrapping, bead weaving and knotting (eg. macrame). I can make a kit up for any of these.
CRAFTS YOU'D LIKE TO TRY / TOOLS YOU'D LIKE TO RECIEVE:
Any kit that I can make up on the sewing machine. I've also never tried hama beads or shrinky dinks. Tools wise any sewing tools are great: I don't have a needle case, many pin-cushions or a scissor keeper...etc If anyone has a tool to help cut straight edges- I'd love that!
OTHER COMMENTS:
I forgot to mention not to send sharp objects in the post- no pins, needles or scissors people!
CO+K NAME: Pamela
COUNTRY: USA
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING?: Yes, no problemo
CAN SEND-
Sewing, crochet, embroidery, cross stitch, polymer clay, beads, jewelry making, hama/perler beads, shrinky dinks, paper crafts. Pretty much everything
LIKE TO RECIEVE-
Easy to follow learn to knit, or crochet patterns. Sewing patterns using Fat Quarters (or any other patterns too). Different Polymer clay ideas as I'm new to using them. Anything you can send would be awesome! I have mostly all the tools I could need, even tools for things I don't know how to use yet, like knitting needles, lol.
OTHER COMMENTS: I am very willing to send you everything you need to get started on a fun new craft! I'm easy to work with and will enjoy anything my partner puts lots of thought and heart into
I want to join - just need to decide which one of the many things I can't do that I want to try!
You can put more than one thing down Julie, then your partner can decide for you.
loving the sound of this swap just wondering if there is anything i do that someone else would love to try and something i'd love to learn myself . think i'll take some to think on this one
I think I'm going to try this one
CO+K NAME: Dragoness
COUNTRY: England
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING?: Yes for this swap
CRAFTS YOU DO / KITS YOU COULD PROVIDE: I can sew (by hand only) usually pushies. I tend to make non-metallic bracelets/necklaces/keyrings. I can provide a kit for making a bracelet/necklace/anklet/keyring. There is only one "tool" needed though that isn't scissors.
CRAFTS YOU'D LIKE TO TRY / TOOLS YOU'D LIKE TO RECEIVE: making jewellery using metal/wire etc, beading.
OTHER COMMENTS: I have no tools for this, no pliers, no wire cutters etc.
If there are odd number I can easily make another bracelet kit.
Hei Libby, I love the idea and I'd like to join, but my problem is there is no actual craft tool I can swap - just kits. Would it be possible to swap 2 or 3 kits instead of 1 kit and 2 tools?
Or maybe the person your partnered with Mary can ask for a project kit that they can buy the tool for, or already have a tool they can use ^_^ I really hope more people sign up for this! It sounds like an amazing idea!!
I love this idea!
CO+K NAME: Tamara J
COUNTRY: England
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING?: sure
CRAFTS YOU DO / KITS YOU COULD PROVIDE: Anything paper related..I can do card making/ scrapbook page kits (if you tell me what size photo and the theme I can send the paper and all matching embellishments.lettering etc.. for you to complete a page. Mini books and sewing by hand e.g I could do a kit for making a hanging decoration (the fabric, thread, buttons, stuffing etc..) I'm willing to try other things as well, whatever my partner would like!
Tools I could provide.. I have lots of paper punches and martha stewart fine glitter pens which are great for writing and doing fine detail work with.
CRAFTS YOU'D LIKE TO TRY / TOOLS YOU'D LIKE TO RECEIVE: jewellery making, especially earrings, necklaces. I have pliers and some earring hooks but that's about it. Making things with fimo/clay.
For tools I love martha stewart punches and have quite alot of designs so maybe could swap with someone if they have different designs.
OTHER COMMENTS: I am happy to try anything new
Yes, that should be fine Mary. I'm sure we can work round it. People seem more keen on the 'kit' part of the swap anyway, so I'm sure we can find you a swap partner thats happy to just trade kits. When I say 'tools' i mean anything you can use to help you make something. It can be as simple as a cardboard template. It doesn't have to be a shop bought item, it can be something handmade. You could also maybe swap a small amount of stash instead.
OK I'm in!
COUNTRY: UK
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING?: Yes
CRAFTS YOU DO / KITS YOU COULD PROVIDE: I sew, so anything related to that - fabric, zips, buttons, notions etc!)
CRAFTS YOU'D LIKE TO TRY / TOOLS YOU'D LIKE TO RECIEVE: I have just started to crochet (really only just a couple of wobbly 'squares' and one dodgy granny square!) and am quite scared of crochet patterns! So maybe a pattern written in *english*.
Or jewellery making - it interests me but I'm put off by my own ineptitude!
Or anything else!!
OTHER COMMENTS: like many of you, I'm sure, I collect stuff for many different crafts (many with good intentions to learn a new skill but that never happens!) so am looking forward to the push from this swap to start somthing new! It also means I have plenty to swap!
CO+K NAME: Mary ;)
COUNTRY: Italy
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING?: Of course
CRAFTS YOU DO / KITS YOU COULD PROVIDE: jewellery making (beads mostly), hama/perler beads, paper crafts (origami, book binding).
CRAFTS YOU'D LIKE TO TRY / TOOLS YOU'D LIKE TO RECIEVE: I'd love to try scrapbooking and card making! For card making I have all the tools I need, but I lack ideas and practice. For scrapbooking, I tried to find books on it and stash but it looks like over here nobody knows it even exists.
OTHER COMMENTS:As I said, I don't have many tools available to swap, as I usually have just one of everything. I have a few small jewellery making tools and a few extra hama beads pegboards, but that's about it.
Theres been a change of plan people- Partners will be up MONDAY! Hope thats ok with everyone.
