Quick Swap! Fourth of July (International)
FOURTH OF JULY QUICK SWAP!
Open to vets only- sorry!
I was hoping we could spread patriotism of our own countries! I would like this swap to be mostly international (so we can all learn a little!), so specifically post if you do NOT want to ship internationally.
-1 item, store-bought, less than $2
-1 item, hand-made
-1 card with a quote about your country (I.e. "it's not what your country can do for you...")
SIGN-UP DEADLINE: June 25, 12pm Eastern Time Zone
SEND-OUT DEADLINE: June 30
Since your craft will be the same no matter who it is sent to, you can begin working on it as soon as you sign up. (that's why the dates are so close)
Please state your country when you sign up!
I hope you like this idea! =)

I LOVE the 4th of July!!!!!!
I am so in!
hmmmm i'll have to think about this one.... i'm getting super busy with school and practicing for a tae kwon do demonstration in the nearest town's 4th of july celeration...
We... don't have a 4th of July celebration. I'm not even sure of what that is. How are people from other countries supposed to join this swap? Sorry but I don't get it ^____^°°°°
Sorry I didn't make it clearer, Mary! The 4th of July is the USA's Independence Day. We became a country this day in 1776.
I just wanted everyone to be patriotic with their own countries so we could educate each other!
Example: I would send a store-bought American flag, homemade keychain, and a card with "land of the free, home of the brave" on it. Then, from someone from the UK, I would receive a store-bought item with te Union Jack on it, a handmade ornament, and a card with "God save the Queen" on it.
Did that make more sense?
Let's do this! I'd love to learn about another country and their celebration of their country's independence or origin. We are all proud of our homelands, so this should be fun and educational! ~Ursula - United States of America
Uh.
I guess no country in Europe celebrates their indipendence, and patriotism isn't that spread in the Old Continent. We usually like more being ashamed of our countries than being proud of them. I'm not even sure I can find a store-bought item with the Italian flag on it which isn't a horribly crafted tourist-like thing. I'll have a look around and get back to you before the 25th.
I'm in!
But I can't really find a quote so maybe I can tell about Dodenherdenking (Remembrance of the Dead) and Bevrijdingsdag (Liberation Day) instead. The first day we remember all soldiers who died in a war and the second day we celebrate the end of WO II.

Mary- It doesn't have to be a flag, it can just be something patriotic-looking. I guess I really don't understand not being proud of your country! But that's what this swap is all about. Learning! Best of luck finding things =)
Dragonfly- Writing about your holidays would be wonderful!
Maybe if you dont really have an Independance day you can tell about a specific tradtion of holiday that is closely related to your country
Alright them, you've convinced me, I'll give this a try ^___^
