Swap Guide / End Survey
Partner Name: Elfy
Swap Name: Sponsor a newbie
Did your partner keep in communication with you?: yes, lost a lil contact but it was due to my partner starting school and all, but once I messaged her for an update, I got a prompt response
Were rules of the swap adhered to? yes/no explain: yes, all cute stuff with some favs, love it!!
Partner Name: Essex Debs
Swap Name: International Happiness Swap of Joy
Did your partner keep in communication with you?: Yes
Were rules of the swap adhered to? (send out date, number of items, etc): Yep! We kept in communication and she was really good about me putting off the send date for a day or so because of uni exams. Luckily quick postage made up for it ;D
The items were awesome and perfectly suited to me (even including some things that I don't think were mentioned in my profile) and they've inspired me to craft things I wouldn't have thought of making. Awesome first swapping experience for me!
Partner Name: Peanut
Swap Name: Newbie Swap
Did your partner keep in communication with you?: Yes, quite frequently
Were the rules of the swap adhered to?: Yes, she sent me the hugest, most awesome package ever! She really went above and beyond her requirements as a Newbie and anyone will be lucky to gain her as a swap partner!
Ok people...I was thinking about it and I decided that maybe there should be a new flaker category. As I erase the names of flakers who have made amends, There should still be some kind of record of them. I'll keep a private list of these names so I can keep track of how many swaps they've flaked on, if they should ever flake again.
I decided on a 3 strikes and you're out rule. I kind of feel guilty about it, so I'd like your feedback. Check out the end of the first post on this thread and let me know what you think.
I participated in the Newbie swap with Heather. I can't complete a full survay because we've only just sent items, but I'm totally stoked and hooked on this swapping stuff and I just can't wait!!
However so far Heather C has been fantastic, she's kept in regular contact with me and sent out on time - I sent out yesturday and she sent out a day or so before me (we agreed the end of Sept).
But the best thing is that she offered herself to me in the first place, I hadn't even put my name down for the swap, we were talking about swapping when I casually mentioned I hadn't done a swap before and like the angel she is, she offered me herself as a partner.
So far she's been nothing but amazing. I can't wait to see her items and I can't wait for her to see mine.
Sorry, I know it's not an end survay (I hope you don't mind!) I'll do when we I recieve her stuff but I just had to explain my experience with Heather C thus far!!
Partner Name: Cloudgurl1986
Swap Name: Kawaii Lunch Bag Swap
Did your partner keep in communication with you?: Yes, then slowly stopped altogether...
Were the rules of the swap adhered to?: Said we were going to send out at the same time, told me she was sending out the next day so I sent out. Then she told me she hadn't sent out, I was OK(ish) with this as long as she kept in contact. Unfortunately that didn't last long....
Cloudgurl ~ I'm willing to retract this as I understand you're back to school but the send out date was the end of August and we're in October now. Get back to me if you see this!
Flaker Announced!
Please check the list before making partners...AND if you've been out of the loop, make sure that YOUR name isn't there!!!!

Yay for you Lolly! It's exciting when you have a good partner huh?
And it's ok that you filled out a "middle of swap" survey! lol I like your enthusiasm. ;)
Dessah: Thanks I'm glad you like my enthusiasm, I'm just super excieted I just can't wait till we each recieve the others stuff. I can't wait to take part in another swap!!
Also I wanted to ask roughly how long it takes to post internationally from the UK to US??
@Lolly ~ Everytime I post, they say 5-7 days. You could have to wait for up to two weeks though (or more as I've seen people mention on the swap boards).
I might have another flaker to announce on Monday. I'm giving her until then to get in contact (been a few weeks with no contact). Am I doing something wrong? Lol. That's 3 that have run away from me!
no ruby lately we have a lot of flakers it just seems that your getting some of the bad swappers(tisk tisk people)but hang in there i would love to swap sometime if you'd like
Ruby, I've had three flakers too, one since this thread started.
The annoying thing is, my flaker is not MIA, shr is active on the site regularly...since flaking on me she has started two threads, replied to numerous threads, posted quite a few projects and also blog posts. all whilst ignoring my last four messages.
We seemed to start out well, so there's really no explanation!!!!
Thankfully, I've also had other really awesome swaps that make it all worthwhile
Unfortunately neither Ruby nor I have had a succesful swap yet. Which is really sad actually.
Partner Name: SparrowFae
Swap Name: Halloween Swap
Did your partner keep in communication with you?: Yes!
Were rules of the swap adhered to? (send out date, number of items, etc): Yes. She sent me really great items and let me know when she was sending out and was very kind and I would be happy to swap with her again
Partner Name: OhMyStars
Swap Name: Matching Set Swap
Did your partner keep in communication with you?: Yes, then stopped very quickly...
Were the rules of the swap adhered to?: Told her I would email her in two days to confirm we're both ready to send out, she replied saying ok. I sent that email a couple days later and had nothing back. I actually held onto this swap though so she hasn't received anything from me. Is that right?
Yes Ruby, you did the right thing. You should only send out once you both confirm that you're done and ready to send. This way you have less of a chance of sending out and receiving nothing.
