Are you on Flickr? Thats another free way to advertise yourself. I'm on there in 2 forms - Arty Kitkat and Kathakana. You can join groups and post links to your Etsy shop.

Selling to other crafters is hard.
Have you posted your site on other blogs, and message boards?

add other shops that have myspace's, and leave comments thanking them for the add, and put an Etsy Mini in the comment.

Add Etsy Minis to all your social networking pages, and blogs. You can even try to get some of your friends to add one to their sites.

Also you can spotlights on byhand.me and it automatically goes on the front page til other people make more posts. Its free advertising. You can also add the spotlights to your blog if you have one. A blog might be a good idea. Make a contest, or get someone who has a lot of followers on their blog to help you out with a contest, and give something away. Just make the rules that they have to be following you on your blog to enter.

And a lot of people use twitter to advertise their shop.

do you use google analytical? It tells you where all your traffic comes from so you will know where to spend more time whoring out your shop.

And take advantage of the message boards on Etsy, and ask people to critique your shop. They'll give you good pointers.

And use all 14 tags for your items so they come up in more searches. Even if theyre kinda bs tags...

And heart lots of shops. even if you dont really heart them. people check out who hearts them so you will get more traffic that way.

AND fill out your shops policies, and be very clear about returns and exchanges if you plan to allow them.

Thats my advice for now.

Yeah Traci, I told her all that before. Ginger isn't listening, tsk, tsk Ginger. Honey you gotta get people to trust you if you want them to buy from you. In short, you have to look as professional as possible and oh, business cards, flyers and such. You can make your own if you have to right tools on your pc, pass those babies out to everybody you can think of.

Wow, Traci! You should teach a class! Ginger, listen to everything Traci and Creativemind have said b/c they're exactly right. They are two very smart ladies. Definitely do business cards, and send them to your girls on here. I love to send my gals' business cards out in my orders, or in swaps when appropriate. I know that Sug does this, too. BTW, I'm out of business cards, and I'd love to have some from all the CO+K ladies who have shops!
