What is a good homemade gift for her??
Our neighbor lady is so nice. Her name is Sue, she is our Mom's Best friend. She always lets us come over, and eat her food. She usually feeds although she is a lot poorer. She is sassy, but still gives good advice, and teaches us a lot of new things. She is the type of person you think of when you think of inside-nice. Not just show off nice, really inside nice. And I really want to make her something, not only because I prefer to make something and have no money, but homemade gifts come from the heart. I want to say thank you for all the nice things she does, she really deserves it. She is not in a good money situation, but she is making the best of it, and keeping a happy state of mind. I want to perk her up a bit. So I would like ideas on thing to maker for her, something unique and not something I whip out in ten minutes. I don't the ability to cook a lot, we are out of food (I almost mean that seriously, we are almost out, no cooking ingredients) so I don't have the ability to cook. She wears jewelery, mostly from her husband/kids and religious. She likes to do things with her hair I have noticed. Urm. I can't knit/crotchet. Her era is the seventies. Like her taste in things. I have the ability to most household things. And most art supplies, paint and clay and such. She loves her animals a lot, her dogs and cats. And her grandson ;) She would probably like something for her home, but she has her three year old grandson and two dogs and a cat running around, so that may not be a good choice. Her taste in jewelery is mostly chains, golds and silvers and bronzes, fairly plain, not big and bold. She wears a lot of neutrals, and pinks. And cardigans. OOH and she also loves horses, she had one but couldn't afford it anymore. Thanks everybody for all the answers in advance. It is all a lot of help!
Make her some scrunchies or hair clips. They're cheap and easy to make, and you can leave them plain or do something more elaborate with them.
A handmade card is also a good accompaniment to any handmade gift.
Mmmm if she's really religious you could always make her a rosary all it takes is some wire, beads, a cross and needle nose pliers.
could you sew a quilt/blanket? with a horse on it? make something for her grandson?
a bag?
sew a fabric cup holder/warmer?
make some cushions or cushion covers?
