Looking for a vintage fabric

I had a dress years ago that was a print, with small fluffy "dots" on it. They were 3-D, sort of like embroidery, but with fluffy edges.

Someone told me this was called "eyelash" fabric, but when I searched online for that name, I got images of another type of fabric altogether.

Can anyone tell me the name of this type of fabric, so I can more easily locate what i am looking for?

thanks,
Claudette

I think they were thinking of eyelet fabric. Try that Happy

Thanks, but i know eyelet.. and it's more like cut-out patterns with embroidered edges.

Maybe My description wasn't good enough. It's got raised, fluffy dots, or even longer bits.. almost 1/4 inch long raised fluffy "slashes".

Do you mean embossed fabric? Different shapes cut-out but not completely cut-through, so you have the furry/velvety top shapes and plain cotton underneith?

Flock maybe?

FLOCKED!! That is it, definitely. Thank you so much. I was wading through pages of fabric ads, now when I add "flocked" to my search, I am finding just the sort of fabric I was looking for.

Yeaaa!
