Help!!! Should I paint that dress?
Ok, there´s a fashion show on saturday and i made this dress for it.

It´s nearly finished but i´m quite unsure if i should paint the violet "bags" at the sides. The pattern i want to paint on (or not) is shown here

i already said, i´m quite unsure to do it because i already painted the train and i´m feared that it will look florid(?)/overcharged. it´s just... i saw that dress the last three weeks and i´m unable to decide because i´ve seen it so often (difficult to explain, hope you know what i´m talking about)
would be sooooooo nice if you help me out!!!
go for it!
I would paint just the lower part of the violet bags though.
1) You've put the same link twice
2) Although I haven't seen the pattern I think the dress is lovely as it is, if you paint a pattern on it, it might become to intrecate and fussy as it already has bold segments to it (if that makes sense)
It is beautiful already, leave it as it is - that's my opinion!!
Hope I helped.
Hi, I agree with Susanna
If you paint too high up on the hips it will take all attention. You could use the curving elements to direct the eye where you want it to look so it will flow effortlessly through the whole design. I think it will be great painted.
I really like it the way it is--you don't want to start taking the concept in a different direction.
i say paint it :] i love the idea of what it would look like painted (im picturing it in my head lol) and i say go for it. i think itll look great :]

I'd say paint the bags. The pattern looks cool but I would stick with one colour and something that's in a similar tone rather than contrasting (if that makes sense). - like you did with the train. I also thing by painting the pattern on the bags I think it would bring all the elements together. I hope that makes sense, I'm not very good at fashion language.
THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS!!!
I thank you for all response and advice!! i decided to leave the "bags" plain for the fashion show and now i will paint them for a photo shooting and to hang the dress on my wall of fame i think it´s a good compromise
I'd love to see some pictures of the final dress!
how was the fashion show?
i didn´t get some photos because the photographers were always occupied with other people who graduated, so they gave them top priority... but my model will take the dress to one of her shootings...
it was hard at all... Unfortunately the catwalk was very dirty, so my latex train soak up all dust and was a bit "blurry"...i suffered from headache from sitting in a tiny room with many people who sweated a lot (there was no window)... my zipper broke down and parts of my silk burst when my model put on the dress... but we repaired it!! i was happy that i could watch the second part of the show and my parents drove me home after it... it was straining but such a great experience to be involved! and there were many nice clothes (and male models )
Well done. Sounds like you were under a lot of pressure. You survived to tell us about it
yes yes yes
Aw I'm so pleased that you managed to enjoy yourself. I'm so proud that you managed to survive under all that pressure. Well done chick
