Taffeta help!

So, I'm making a dress for my semi-formal coming up. I'm making it out of taffeta and I have a question - do you need to line taffeta? I have lining if I need to but I'm not sure if I have to or not.

i think it depends on what dress you wanna have. if it´s a dress with corsage or pencilskirt i would line the taffeta because of stress on the seams. also it depends on what "character" you wanna have (rather stiff, smooth, flowing...)

hm, well it is a 'sheath' dress...so i guess the seams will be slightly stressed...

I'd suggust doing it just beause its a dress. But I always have better luck when I line them. Last time I didn't line it, it put too much stress on the stiches.
