Childrens costumes for kindergarden: need ideas

My sister in law opened a child daycare center (on a farm, it's awesome) and I promised to sew costumes for the children to play in. An aunt gave me three garbage bags full of curtain samples. So I made a princess dress, working on a second one. Was thinking of making a pirate costume, a cowboy costume, a ballerina costume, a kings cape. But what else do children like these days, got any ideas?

I know little girls love princess dresses but preferably I'd also want to make them something less gender role specific. Do you think girls would want to wear a more girlie (but still tough) pirate costume?

They're not finished yet but these are the princess dresses I made. The fabrics are quite shiney which made it hard to get the colours in the pictures right. The top one has a beautiful deep red colour.

I find little girls mainly want the princess or ballerina costumes...but how about a " wicked witch"" costume ?

Robot, Ninja, fireman, fairy, prince, warrior, super hero cape, football player, cheerleader, Raggedy Ann and Andy, and a gnome. These are some I came up with off the top my head and some of these are gender neutral.

Kids love hats. You don't have to define them they will do it for themselves.Simple over head costumes with head and arm holes can be turned into what ever the little ones want them to be.They are lucky to have you to sew for them !

Hats are a great idea and I also love the idea of super hero capes. And I also have a few brownish cotton fabrics that can turn a child into any kind of animal with some holes in the fabric for head arms and legs. Thanks!
