Wedding Guest Outfit
At the beginning of September I am going to my cousin's wedding and would love to wear something totally awesome. I was thinking about making something as it would be unique and hopefully cheaper than going out and buying something that I will only wear once, maybe twice in my lifetime.
I would love to wear a dress, so a dress pattern thing would be nice.
If not I would love a top and a skirt one... I'm trying not to wear trousers, but if it comes to it then I will...
I'd just love to wear something lovely without feeling like I'm going on some sort of business trip (haha)
Any and all ideas are welcome... to those who post a reply, thank you so much for your time, effort and ideas to help me out!!!
I can't wait to see what people come up with!!!
What season will it be for you in September?
Autumn
I thought this was nice and pretty http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/15 Also the pattern is free, you just have to sign up so even better.
Thanks Arty KitKat, I've looked at the other things on there and that was probably the nicest thing and prettiest dress I've seen. I'm not sure if it is wedding-y enough, but I shall try it out. Other ideas are still welcomed.
Just thought you'd be glad to know that I bought a dress in Dorothy Perkins in the sale!!
It's red, very fifties style I guess. It's knee length and has a rose on the waist WOOO
However I'm going to get some black and red tulle. The black tulle will be added to the red rose in the middle to give it more colour and the red tulle will be made into an underskirt and to give an extra inch of tulle at the bottom of the dress. I'll do before and after shots but it will hope fully look AMAZING!!
Still open to ANY dress patterns & ideas, rather than just wedding guest outfit(y) dresses.
Arty KitKat: That dress pattern is amazing and simple, I'm going to try it out!! Would be good to have a gothic(y) dress pattern...
Thanks for everyone's input!!
I love before and after pics Gothicy is good. I'll keep an eye out and let you know anything I see. I've got a Wedding in September too and I want to make something or adapt something too so I've been scouring the net already
Aaawww I'll do it just for you then (the before and after pictures). Gothicy is pretty cute. Haha what a coincidence, if I could be of any help (probably not much though) just let me know
I'm not much of a sewer but I'm having a go at this http://www.rostitchery.com/infinity-dress.html
I'm making it out of shocking pink flat sheet I picked up in a charity shop for £3 so no harm done if it doesn't turn out right
