I need help with a jack a lope costume!
I want to be a jill a lope (jack a lope) for halloween.
I'm trying to figure out how I should go about this.
Paper mache seems too messy and a possible disaster. I'm open to it though.
I was thinking I should buy rabbit ears and make the antlers to attach or should I buy a reindeer and attach bunny ears?
Any thoughts?
I imagine ears will be easier to make than antlers. Then you can make nice felt ones.
I had to abandon my Jill a lope idea.
I'm having to go with a simple witch costume. I'm going to try to make it a little special. I'm going to be a sort of mod candy witch. I found all of these super cute 3d candy stickers. I'm making my own hat. It's going to be tiny and pill boxesque. Hope that makes sense. I'm also making a tiny pom pom cat to go on my broom. I'm going to carry around a bag of candy to hand out to others. Halloween is a huge event here in New Orleans! Any excuse to throw on a costume and go drinking!
awww why'd you have to abandon it! :
I am jill's utter disappointment [yes, that is a Fight Club reference. Awesome... I know... lmfao]
I'm going to save the Jill-a-lope for Mardi Gras. I have an image in my head that I want to create.
If I don't do it just right I won't be happy. I want to be a very girly sort of 1950's Jill-a-lope. With a fancy party dress and white gloves. I'm doing the mod candy witch as my day costume for school. I'm a preschool art and drama teacher. My costume for Halloween night is the Empty Child from Dr. Who. I have a Who group I will be hanging with that night. I'll be hanging with the current Dr. Who, a Dalek and the Tardis. Not a soul will know who we are probably, but we won't care! I don't think it get's any dorkier than a bunch of American girls dressed as BBC Sci-fi characters. Oh (sigh) Dr. Who how I love thee....
I totally had a crush on Tom Baker when I was 5!
