Cut Oy And Keep is a ghost town; but why, it's fab!?!?!?
Hello,
This is a fabulous and very inspiring site; but I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be a very large population of members on here, nor is there much activity via comments/discussions anywhere on the site; it feels like a ghost town. So, I'm wondering, why is this?!?! There should be so many more crafty people on here; so where are they all?!?!
Lily
I mean, er; *Cut 'Out' And Keep*. =0)
what do you mean there aren't a lot of people on here? There are 144,414 members! If that isn't a lot of people I don't know what is.
There are a lot of members, but most of them are inactive or lurkers. The forums are most active over holidays because most of the users are students (middle school, high school, college).
I'd say it's far from a ghost town. There's always enough going on to make 5-10 posts a day, sometimes more depending on the discussion/topic.
I just think the forums aren't promoted as much as they could be.
I think part of the lack of comments is due to the change in the format of the website. It seems that when someone comments on a topic it doesn't always update on the home page as an active discussion. I also think some people do not like the new layout of the site. I know I have commented and it has taken hours to show up as someone adding to the discussion.
Plus it seems a lot of new members sign up then loose. We have some great crafters here and it's always fun to see what they are working on or use their work for inspiration.
I'm here, and CO+K is awesome!
I agree with you, Stacy! Before the new layout (which I personally like) came up, I felt there were more active people, but I'm particularly talking about the activity in favourites and comments. It just felt there were fewer of them after the layout changed. But I also think that there are many people out there anonymously looking for inspiration around here but just don't participate. I can understand this because I did the same for 2 years before I joined.
Wow really? I didn't know I was a zombie crafter. An Monika is right most coks are students, working people, and hard working mothers. I know since winter classes started I study, hangout with friends, then boyfriend, care for my pup, work and then craft until I go to sleep. Don't give up on the site yet, it really is an awesome craft site and there is always something interesting happening on the boards.
Well, Stacy is right! People have their list button broken so Tom is busy fixing I guess.
For one thing, Cutoutandkeep is awesome and on the other hand, I'm eleven
Just out of curiosity I looked at all the crafters on here from Glasgow and can see most of them don't have any projects, they just watch and fav things, guess that's just the way of things.
I've become entirely addicted to posting my makes, but it is hard to find the time with work, domestic life and my wee girl. I'm seeing enough new things every day on here to keep my interest anyway
Now the population is 144522
Well, even though I am addicted to crafts, ideas don't come so easily it also takes up a lot of time. Perhaps that is one reason why there isn't always a lot of activity! Also, craftster.org has about double the members of this site, but it's more forum based and honestly I like the layout of CO+K much better. Many crafters have their own blogs as well. I live in a city of almost 1 million people but there are only about 100 people from my city on Cut Out + Keep as shown on the map, and most of them are inactive. I guess this site is just a hidden gem
