Hello crafty friends!
I wanted your advice on something- I’ll be making some handmade goodies to sell at a charity event for Plan International, who do a wonderful scheme called The African School Project, which is taking place in Tanzania this year.
I’ve been asked to make some stuff to sell- the sale is 12th December so I’d like them to be gift type things, can you advise on easy, quick projects that I can make a lot of, and also can use spare/mismatched fabric for? (I can’t crochet or knit!)
Also, if you’d like to donate any homemade items for me to sell that would be greatly appreciated
We’re aiming to raise the £40,000 this year as a company, which as well as building a new school, will also provide teacher training, learning materials, play equipment, repair and replacement of hand pumps, toilets, and community awareness sessions and will help provide a fully functioning centre which will benefit children in the village for years to come. So on a side note, if you did fancy contributing to this year’s scheme, you can visit my friend Vanessa’s page to donate: https://www.justgiving.com/VanessaLecomte
Thanks in advance for your advice!
Hayley

I'm taking my mum to a "super 3D" showing this sunday for mothers day, should be good!
Something useful? How about a laundry basket/sack?
crochet or knitting. Maybe get a beginners crochet kit with some instructions-I'd say try to master the basics before your trip and then maybe make a scarf or hat, which for a beginner will take several hours.
Theres also origami- you just need shets of paper and instructions
I'm in Essex- Romford! Where are you? Maybe we could start one
Here is mine- http://hayleyscraft.blogspot.co.uk/
I'll be doing a free giveaway once I reach 2000 page views! Currently on 1600!
Um...why did you decide to do it?
You're gonna need to know all about basic I.T stuff already, so i hope you're good with computers!
Maybe we could house swap!? haha
I'd reccomend living in Essex or Kent where the prices are cheaper to live but the transport links are really good- I love in Romford which is 20 minutes train ride from central london. I have a 2 bedroom large flat with a garden and pay £900 a month- the same thing in a nice area of london would cost double this!
I live and work in London, and the city itself is awesome. But It is very expensive to live here, groceries are overpriced, drinks and tobacco are really overpriced, and for a small 1 bedroom flat in the outer boroughs of london (anywhere in zone 4-5-6 on the london underground map) your looking at at least £900 a month.
My boyfriend got me some beads and embellishments, and a sewing book- so sweet of him!
Etsy. Think of a few things you like to make and make well, then make a range of them and sell them on Etsy
Louis (pronounced Looey)
He's adorable though, you should sell them on Etsy.
How about a version of my pink elephant brooch!?
http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/felt-elephant-brooch
They're super easy, you just cut out the shape twice, sew together with a straight stitch- plump up with a little stuffing and glue on the brooch back. Or I could make you one if you want to swap x
New blog post on mine, please follow so I feel popular! ^__^
