Craft book collections
So I was rummaging through my books this weekend and I realized out of the "Stitch n' bitch" knitting and crochet books, I have 2 left to get. I'm also going into T-shirt reconstruction and have "Generation T: Beyond Fashion" and I'm getting their first book this week. I was wondering if anyone else collects their books this way (if it has a series of course) The dress project I am doing I'm not going to do until I get the second one in so I have other ideas on how to make the top. When you have a sert of craft books instead of just one, does it help you any? Especially if it is something relatively new to you but you know you want to get into?
I have quite a craft library! I find the more books I have the better, as if you find the basic explanations of how to do things in one book difficult to follow, you always have another one to refer to. Its also just nice to flick though to get new ideas. I don't have any series I'm afraid, but I have bought books by the same author on differently related topics, if I liked the first one.
I'd like to be able to just buy as many craft books as I wanted, but it starts getting expensive. I find the library a pretty good resource (depending on the quality of your library). I've just started learning to crochet and I have three books out on loan about crochet. Its a really cheap way of trying a new technique, especially if you are not sure you are going to like it. Its also a good to be able to properly look at the books before you buy, if like me you mostly buy online.
I can agree with that. I only buy on amazon for my craft books, and there is still very little selection in my library. there is a lot I want but not alot i have. Especially my "work up to/eye candy" knit and crochet books
I only have a few craft books, but I have a long list of them that I want to get at some point. I have the two Generation T books and a bunch of small 20-30 page booklets.
I do have several craft magazines, but I have never bought subscriptions to them so they're all really old, but valuable to me nonetheless.
I really want to get Amy Sedaris's books.
Old magazines are still cool. I love old magazines and craft books, as they generally have the same techniques as the new books, just done in a less modern way. They are great for inspiration. I was so lucky I managed to get a full set of 1970's craft magazines in a charity shop for £3.50. Murder getting them home on the bus, but well worth it.
I like craft magazines, but as I don't have alot of room in my house. I usually hit the libary for books to read
I had a huge collection about 5 years ago, and then I moved in with my daughter and only kept a few, I look on line or if I can I go to the library.that seems best for me..I do miss all my books and magazines craft issues..sigh..but I only have one room now..not 2 sheds and whole trailer to my self.I try to not think about them..they sure were some good stuff..

just got some books on ATC's to learn some ideas for the backgrounds , very good buys
I have the clay cookbook, I also have a steampunk craft book, i really want to get the big-ass book of crafts... Judging by the name is sounds awesome!
How is the clay cookbook? I've looked at it on amazon but don't own it. I have Tasty Trinkets which I think is pretty good for such a little book.
I really like it, it was a gift and I love it, I always am looking through it for inspiration for any minis I'm making not just food
