He got my name tattooed >.<
Long story short, my boyfriend and I broke up today. I'm upset but fine with it but he changed his mind and is now trying to get me back. Soooo what does he go do....he gets my name tattooed on his wrist! I'm so horrified about it! He has always wanted to get it every time we have a fight and I have BEGGED and begged him through the whole relationship never to get my name, the thought of seeing my name on someone has always put me off. Like I'm obligated to stay because I'm labled on them. It just seems so obsessive to want that only when we fight. I'm probably strange for being so freaked out by it, but I can't stand knowing he did that to try and keep me around. My family is just cracking up about it, he sent a pic and my mom said "does that say Tanee?" My name is Janee' and it looks too much like a T and he even forgot the accent mark. Oh well, it was his body and choice. Sorry everyone, I just needed to flip out a little.
By the way I have nothing against tattoos, I have a pretty bad ass one on my shoulder that I designed myself and already have more planned out.
My partner wants the same. Although were not in the same situation. I love tattoos and it's just i think getting someone's name is a pretty extreme thing . I can safely say we have been together like six years now so i feel confident enough to get one but other than that i get pretty weirded out with name tattoos. It does kind of feel like your labled to someone :/ It's okay with friends or family names. You know nothing too bad could go wrong if that makes sense. But to be honest that's no way of winning someone back its a bit horrible really like almost makes you feel guilty a little.
Also like you say though. It's his body. God forbid it but say for instance he formed some dislike towards you( which i hope wont happen >.<) he has your name on him for the rest of his life :p so more fool him darlin (: haha.
Yeah I totally agree that it's different with family names and I'm even planning on getting my favorite childhood picture of me and my mom tattooed on my ribs. But this tattoo in this situation reminds me of those crazed lovers that cut their ex's initials into their skin (I have known people who have done that). It was so random too, after hours of not talking to me just says hey guess what I did! It only creeped me out. I guess I'll never understand the way some people think, or maybe I should say their lack of thinking. I do feel like he's guilt tripping me in a major way. I can just picture how his up tight parents are going to react to it hahaha. If he's happy with it, than thats good, but guess I don't have to be around to see the damn thing.
Exactly. So really as creepy as it is..you don't have to look at it(: haha.
Oh wow. I would probably freak out too if that happened. I think it may be slightly neurotic, but just because he only wanted to get it done after breaking up. That does seem a little possessive to me. And I also agree that you should only get name of relatives or maybe you're best friend of a million years or your children. But keep it simple. There was this girl I used to go to school with and she got a tattoo(let me note she was only like 14 at the time. Ridiculous!!) with the name Uncle Ed(we later found out he passed away), now I thought it was nice to do, but she had his name surrounded by hearts and starts and stuff. I mean it was really girly. Which I thought was kinda weird.
No way. How creepy is that? You're sure it is real?
As you said, it sounds like some sort of lame move to force you into coming back.
If you're over him, and mean enough, try ( and I say TRY because I know it would take ME a lot of time ) so see the funny side of it:
- every next girl will pretty sure be pissed.
- if you don't come back to him, just think of how pissed he's gonna be after a while!
NAMES on men only work if they're his kids names. ( Drop dead sexy if you ask me! )
hmmm..... want me to google the specifics of a PPO/restraining order in your area/state?? Just say the word. The guy sounds like a sociopathic nut-job... I believe you that this has NOT been a fun experience. >.<
lol! That's hilarious!
I guess I'm one of those mean people who can easily laugh at this-- simply because I have a very similar story.
When I was in high school my best friend got a tattoo for her 16th birthday. She got a cross with a bunch of symbols on it- one of the symbols represented me- then the next year we had a huge fight and stopped being friends are still not friends yet I am forever and ever on her back! lol Cracks me up.
Yea, you'r boyfriend or ex sounds pretty possissive. I'm sure he thought it was romantic and would be a grand gesture to do that, but at the end of the day, its just stupid and immature.
I live in a gang infested city and a lot of people (women especially) tend to get name tattoos of people who have died during the violence. And I get the appeal of having the name of a loved one who has passed tattooed on you. Maybe he can just tell future girlfriends that you died or something.
Try to laugh about it. It will hit you as funny some day.
Wow.. That's pretty extreme, and very creepy. I'd also freak if my ex did that.. I suggest you get a restraining order or something.
My boyfriend and I want to get matching tattoos, but not with names or anything, just a raven and a wolf next to each other because they are our favourite animals. I'd never get a tattoo with someone's name though, it would make it so awkward if we broke up or something.
I don't even want my kids tattooing "mother" or my name. Don't blame me for you ruining your body! LOL No offense to the people with tats. I don't like them personally and would probably drag my kids to the doctor to have it removed. If a guy did it though I'd laugh and tell him to have fun with having an ex girlfriend's name on his arm when he's trying to date.
LOL! I would love to see what happens when his next girlfriend asks about it!
wow that sounds like a cry to not wanna be alone. I wouldnt stay with him just because he got your name on his wrist. stay with him outta love not oblagation. my dad had the name of his first gf on his arm with a heart around it and i remember him telling me that it was the worst thing he could have done because she left him shortly after. i guess it would be one thing if u were married.
my husband wants to get my name on himself too but i told him no. i dont want him having that on his mind if anything were to happen to me he wouldnt ever be able to move on. i dont want that. i love him and i dont want him to think of me every day of his life just cuz im on his arm :/ id feel bad,
My husband got my name on his arm, we were married when i was 16 and he 21.many years later we left one another, he had a flower
tattoed over my name..lol..I thought that was funny, but he left it on for a lot of years.
First off, that tattoo artist was an idiot. I know a few that will simply NOT tattoo a name on somebody under any circumstance until it is there son/daughter or a remembrance tattoo. What a stupid artist, to be quiet honest.
Reminds me of a local tattoo parlor that was advertising two name tattoo for $100 last valentines day... it makes respectable tattoo artists looks bad, and it's honestly very frustrating. they think it's a good idea as they'll be able to get the money for the name, AND money for a COVER UP later on
He's out of his mind dear, stay away from him! And if you explain what happened with the tattoo to a judge id think you'd be able to get a restraining order with ease..in my opinion you should, for your own safety!
