so much yarn and no idea what to do with it
i have aloooooooottt of yarn.. its really annoying. most people will say "oh how lucky" but when i go into a store its like "ooh yarn" that i know i will never find a pattern to accompany it. its overtaking my space!!! just had to gewt that off my chest.
I have been crocheting a lot lately, but making up my own stuff like cuffs and fingerless gloves. Plus, I done broke out my knitting looms again to make a few x-mas gifts. Went through my stash looking for some white, couldn't find it of course and I know have some somewhere. I realized too that I have mostly dark colors. Hmmmm, I need lighter colors.
Do you knit or crochet? I have made quite a few blankets on my kk looms and crocheted a lot of purses/bags, again all just something I came up with, both of which can use up a lot of yarn.
I'm crocheting granny squares. Rapunzel scarf's are great to make too!
you could sell what you don't want, or swap it
i would definately invest in some falls! myself im barely starting to do it and im looking for specific types of yarn. so easy but hard at the same time. i've came across so many different styles and ways to do these falls its incredible! or like Michelle G said, SWAP! i bet there's alot of ppl out there looking for a quick yarn FIX lol...have fun!
any tips on what yarn is best to use when making fluffly falls please let me know...thanx!
searh this site!
I have a bunch of yarn and nothing (but CO+K, of course) to entertain me right now...so I'm playing around with my yarns, trying to learn some new things. All I actually know is the knit stitch...I've been looking around on here for tutes on purling and stuff.
oh my gosh me too.
my dad went on a roadtrip with the dog and he came back with lyk...
5bags of yarn for me.
i havent knitted in 5yrs!
at the moment it's just sitting in a huge box ontop my wardobe....
If you guys were using knitting looms, then I could help ya out a bit, but I tried that needle knitting thing, needless to say we didn't get along so well. My looms are way faster and easier...I made a nice size afghan using both the purl and knit stitch to make a checkered pattern in the solid colored squares of this blanket
Now if you crochet then I can really help you there. I actually taught myself by watching videos on youtube. So if you want to learn new knit stitches, check that out.
Good luck!^_^
Hey, I know I'm the same. There's sooooo much you can do with it all though. I saw this picture on the internet the other day and it was a massive coat made from loads of squares of different knits. I think they cut up old jumpers rather than knitting it, but it looked amazing. Oh and I found really good fashion knitting magazine the other day called Twisted Angle. It's a membership based thing but it's really cheap for what you get and they feature some really cool patterns and trends. The site is www.twistedangle.co.uk .......I should really post this up somewhere too :0~
Can I just say that I have attempted knitting (just now) and I freaking hate it!!! IT'S SO HARD!!!! I tried crocheting a few months ago, which I actually wasn't doing too terribly with - considering I was learning by YouTube videos, but GAH!! KNITTING!! RAWR!!! It's the new bane of my crafting universe!!!!! >.<
well i taught myself knitting when i was about 5 months prego with my second son he is 5 months now at first it was a little confusing but now i can do just about all the patterns i find or figure up till get bored with it and start another one i can help u out with the purl if u want i couldnt get the crotchet figured out 2 save my life that was bad for me but i only started it as craft therapy for my tourettes gives u somethin 2 concetrate on sometimes for long periods of time
Argh Gypsie Moon I'm right with you, I was learning how to do a basic stitch, I weren't doing too bad to start with but it all went downhill and I just got bored and frustrated and gave up!! Sewing is more my kind of thing... I've never tried crocheting, I know my mum wants to learn, I'll look into YouTube thanks girls xxx
As for doing something with the wool, best option is to start a swap on here and ask for some yarn that want, that you have a good pattern for? Or keep searching craft shops for patterns or online patterns, I found some for making hats and berets... some from on CO+K.
What kind of yarn do you have?
SEND IT TO MEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! (seriously--i had to leave all my yarn at home when i moved. )
knittingdaily.com and lionbrand both have some pretty cute patterns
