The dog needs an operation!
we hear about how she's got on at 3, I'm really scared
EDIT: my mum phoned the dog is fine but now we have to wait for them to see if the tumour was benign or not
Glad to hear the dog was fine, hopefully it was not a benign tumor.
no we want it to be benign! I take it that was a typo lol
ooooh...i remember now...gosh...i suck at medical terminology
benign means no ikkyness!
So because she's got stitches under her front leg she's not allowed to jump up and we have to pick her up and put her outside, on her lead and back in once she's gone to the toilet, but she gets excited about her lead, like all dogs, so she won't go, we've tried twice and she just stood there and there was a bang the second time so she wanted straight back in! We've got the laundry maiden things infront of the sofas so she can't jump up...awkward! Picking her up is hard as well cuz we don't want to touch the wound. She's just wondering around and moaning a bit.
Don't worry about her not going, she will go eventually. She'll get the point. As for her wandering around..you could try to put everything in a central location for her, like her food and such.
she's lying down a lot now, I think it hurt her a bit to lie down at first and she was confused because she was hungry and in pain and a bit sleepy
It's possible it hurt her, but she might feel like it hurts less than walking now. She will be okay...I think dogs have a natural tendancy to lay in a way that makes them comfortable...or at least try...I always figure, if they're not comfortable they'll move.
all she wants is to sit on the sofa so I put her basket in the living room so she has a comfy place to sit I gave her my purple blankey
she looks a bit fat here she isn't it's just the way she's sat! She's normal again today, apart from not being able to go on the sofas, or jump up or outside without having her lead on lol
Awwww, she is so pretty and she looks adorable in that basket!! Where did you get it, we are going to try to get Star a doggie bed, but we are afraid she is going to tear the stuffing out haha!
It's a plastic basket and we use old blankets/sleeping bags with an old sheet over the top, she has her own special doggy blanket that's blue with Zs on it for bedding too, but obviously it needs washing after a while! That's the only basket she's ever had, we were told to only get a plastic one so if she chewed it it wouldn't get too ruined. Before she goes in her basket at night she waits for me to poof up the bedding and make it neat haha!
You could probably find one like it at any pet shop. If she starts chewing it keep a toy near by, take her away from the basket and show her the toy and she'll get the idea, try find a toy thats really durable a bit noisy and one that you can put treats in too to keep her occupied and keep that near the bed. Also put it somewhere that is her little space, Rona's basket is usually in the kitchen, I just think it's good for them to have their own little space, it's like instinct for them to have a den. (I'm sorry if that sounded patronising)
She was due to have a groom next week but obviously with her stitches she can't get it wet until it heals so she's getting a bit tatty and her 'fringe' is covering her eyes almost! haha
Ahh..she will be okay...she's a purty doggie.
As for the chewing...I knew to give her toys...we just don't want her tearing up her bed while we are not home, but I think we are going to make her one out of stuff we are not worried about rather than buying one...i like the basket idea...we will find something
aww best of luck with her healing she is a gorgeous dog Queenie
I agree, she is a beauty. I wants to snuggle her
she wouldn't object to a cuddle! I feel bad cuz we keep screaming 'NOOO!' whenever she goes near the sofas or the stairs and we shouldn't scream it but we can't help it haha thanks guys
