Highlights for anyone who cares:

* Time Capsule, which is basically a portable hard drive attached to a wireless router, you can buy this sort of thing already but the attraction of this is that is integrates with the Time Machine backup stuff in Leopard.

* Some fairly minor iPhone software updates.

* $20 pack giving you the iPhone apps on an iPod Touch (is that right?)

* Movie rentals through iTunes.

* Apple TV can sync photos now, and use the new movie rental stuff in iTunes from its own UI.

* Apple TV price being reduced to $229 in the States, which would be a tempting price if I wasn't in the UK where it still costs a fortune

* And, of course, the MacBook Air. A new laptop which isn't very powerful, but is very pretty, and very, very, very thin and light:

The current trend for lightweight laptops doesn't appear to have passed Apple by, and this is a very high-end item in that market. They've spent a lot of time on its size and weight. The only thing I've been told to look out for is that the battery can't be user-changed (so you'll presumably have to send it back to Apple and pay a service charge after a few years). And there's no optical (CD/DVD/etc.) drive, but that's to be expected in something so small.

In the UK this thing is starting at £1,200, so I guess it really has to be what you're looking for. But it's a good example of designing for a single purpose.

Apple TV has always done photos, now it does Flickr and .Mac photo streams...

...and you can't replace the Air battery :S

My mistake, I screwed that up when I was transcribing from another news source. I always wanted an Apple TV but I don't think they work with my OS. They do pretty much what I have my XBox hooked up to do but they're much smaller and nicer-looking. And you don't need to use a game controller Happy

Yeah, Apple tend not to design products which are supposed to last forever these days. Perhaps that's for the best, technology-wise, but if you're dropping this many notes on a product it'd be nice to know it's maintainable.

I like the new iPhone stuff. I now have a screen for all my CO+K links, one for web links, one for apps I use, one for apps I don't use as much and one for web apps.

Yeah, I was just hoping for proper third-party apps. Most of the additions are things that normal mobiles already had ("multiple-recipient SMS"?) but the new homescreen customisation is a really nice touch. My phone can do something similar with shortcuts but it's two buttons and kinda limited. I'm due an upgrade in any case, I need to sort this out.

Well I was totally taken in by the new laptop! I want one, can't imagine how expensive they would be here though..
We want the apple tv, but there is no itunes for Iceland Happy We'll just stick our xbox for watching stuff on tv.

The 1.8 GHz Air costs 1800£ over here Happy

Yeah, the macbook is *steep*... I was kinda hoping for something wantable *and* affordable.. Happy

Also, you can do custom icons for the web clips for the iphone... except I've got no idea how to get something co+k-ey insize a 57x57 image Happy

I don't know if this is what you want, but. Do you already have any mac computer or laptop? There is a application for mac called Skitch a photo uploader/basic editor and you can resize any picture, I just tested and it can go down that small.

I think Tom has the tools required, he just doesn't know what would look good!

Something like this with Crafterella might work? It's the simplest possible thing:
