What are you itching to make?

I really want to make Head bands with crystals... to add to my chakra jewlry project. I love crystals and semi-prescious stones. They are like shoes for me!

I am currently into making stationary! It has me fully obsessed. Duct Tape envelopes! I'm hooked. And pattned envelopes, scrolls too.... I got a scroll letter from a pen pal, it was awesome!

I want to try the resin projects too.. I have a "When I have the guts" list on here. Those are projects I deee myself needing a good! tutorial for. I can be slow with directions sometimes.... :/

Wouldn't glass be best for mixing resin? Isn't it resistant? I mean pyrex bowls...? Just a thought. That duct tape manequin is awesome! My friend and I just found that on the net the other day. I want to make one of those too, because I have to alter everything from evey pattern, I now truly understand why store bought clothes don't fit right, I am not the right shape at all!!! Not even in vintage patterns....
Seyon: What is this making pots..? Cooking pots or flower pots? Cooking pots sounds amazing!!! personally designed and made cooking set.... woa! Even a garden set too that's cool.

I'm currently making a wildlife habitat.More about that on my blog later.
H ave been a bit stuck recently but like Monika I have loads of ideas currently.Bag making and cuff making is this summers project.
Off to spec out a gallery space for a show next January.I'm not totally sure yet what I'll submit but its great to be thinking ahead.

Glass probably would be fine for resin, but I think it's best to use something disposable since resin is toxic until it hardens. If you work really fast, using plastic cups won't be an issue... but you have to work REALLY fast.

I know how you feel not being the "right shape" for storebought clothes. Being 43/36/45 right now makes it nearly impossible to get comfortable clothes from a store. Hopefully that will change a little bit once I'm back down to like 40/30/40 like I used to be. lol For now I think I just need to make more projects from t-shirts and stretchy fabrics.

I have a few cosplays that I am desperate to get started! But I promised myself I wouldn't touch my personal projects until I had got all of my uni work done and handed in >_<

My problem is that I'm itching to craft but don't know what. I feel like I'm going mad because my brain says make stuff but I have absolutely no idea what to make. I'm a very complicated person because everything I make has to be absolutely perfect and I have to have a clear idea of it in my head because winging it rarely works for me Tongue Also, my problem is that I never really like the stuff I make and end up stashing it somewhere. I think I need professional help Happy

I was a perfectionist until I realized that I got more enjoyment out of winging it, and fixing the end result if I didn't like it. That, or I'd cut it apart and use the materials for something else. lol

I spend a ton of time making detailed sketches of certain things I want to make though. Maybe that would help you!

Also, what others can't see won't hurt you. lol

I'm was perfectionist when I got grades for my projects. In the end I realized that my hard work didn't exactly pay off as much as effort had put in the project. It was always just good. Not ridiculously good how I wanted it. So now I'm rather lazy. But today I made a a happy gram, a moss terrarium and a bracelet so I can cross these off my list.

Hella, this must be a dumb question, but what's a happy gram? Happy

Monika, yes, sketching always helps me when I have at least the slightest idea about what I want to make. No such luck lately, though Tongue I guess I'll have to put more thought into it. Ugh, sometimes I rather annoy myself Happy

I started this last night: http://bunnymummy-jacquie.blogspot.co.uk/2010/04/mini-hexagon-pattern.html
I like to start ridiculously time consuming projects especially when it comes to crochet : (

@Razzledazzle Happygrams are like little postal pick-me ups! They are normally a card with an inspirational quote on it and a small gift/stash. See the board for a better explaination: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/board/swapping/swap_shop/5959-happy-grams-fourth-edition

krista: i was thinking of garden and cooking pots for my mum.

That's fantastic Syeyon! I want to see the cooking ones! I might actually do something like that, with a tutorial..... if you could do the project and make one....

I'm weird in the sence that I like to "exchange ideas" among friends or groups rather than do wide broad searches... I am horrible with searches. I barely ever find what I am looking for. so when I hear someone's idea and have no idea how to do it I am always willing to see what the outcome is, and try it out if I think that it falls along the line of my skills. Make those pots for your mom! That would be cool. A matching set in the garden and kitchen!! Whats up! That's cool.
Razzle Dazzle- definately don't be too perfectionist, I get like that when I feel like I've fixed a project too many times and I drop it. I find that I actually start getting depressed that I can't craft and nothing gets done, its a cycle that I have to bring myself out of, makes me slow on posting on here too! lol Just be you while making your projects and give them away as soon as they are made and you won't have to see them again.
Monica- I have 32-25-34 or something like that. I always have to take in the bust like 2 or more inches because 32 is not out it's just around... the rest is flat! Should your hip and bust be about the same.... as a general fitting rule...?

For storebought clothes, I'm going to say that bust is typically expected to be smaller than hips, depending on the brand. I have the biggest issue with finding dresses because my bust is typically closer to an 18 while my hips fit in a 12 or sometimes a 14.

That's why I like to get shirts that fit decently and modify them from there! I have a couple goth friends back home that are flatter-chested and they feel unduly inadequate next to me (they refer to my bust as the "watermelons" LOL), but they have a much easier time finding really cute clothes that fit them. But I think they have a bit of an issue with the bust parts being too loose as well. I think it has a LOT to do with the fabric something's made from, too. Knits seem to fit everyone much nicer than wovens do.

The halter top tutorial I made is one that should work for everyone regardless of bust size, and halters are cute on everyone anyway. You should totally make one!

I can't wait to get my last few projects for my goth/rivethead mod series done before my trip home.

Krista - hip and bust may be somewhat different - it depends quite a bit what body type you are - eg pear shaped, hourglass etc. Look these up, possibly along with face shapes just for interest, on Google, then you can form an idea of yourself and what clothes etc work best. It shouldn't be hard to find but if you don't let me know and I will see what I have. I keep a file with all my measurements (precise at point of measurement but with an indication of the range of measurements likely as these vary up and down over time as you will know) which I can refer to when allocating materials and pattern creation etc. I often find that for perfect fit I have to make adjustments to clothes as the things I like are things that invariably don't fit well.

I find that, although I can go through a detailed design phase with lots of drawings, a good knowledge of techniques, materials and experience are far more useful as you can start with minimal sketches as modify 'on the fly'. I find there is far less chance of getting bored that way.

Hope this helps

For what I'm itching to make -
Currently I'm trying to put together a sort of Goth outfit - not too extreme but with little black dress, lace blouse - modyfying / adding to with collars and lace - I have made a corset belt for this and keep attempting to find time to post as a project - it will be my first so I need to sort what to do - the first of anything always seems hard. I need to get completed because I have many interests so am always itching to make something new
