Last five pounds... any tips?

So I'm 22 years old 5' 7"-8" and have recently lost some weight.

I stayed a pretty consistent 135 lbs in high school and my first few years in college which was a decent weight for me considering my build (which is broad everything thanks to my Mexican dad... broad shoulders, rib cage, hips, wrists, feet... my point being that I could never by considered slender.) I started gaining weight my third year of college, only by 10 lbs so I didn't think much of it, however last summer it got out of control.... I decided I wanted to graduate college at the same weight I started and began monitoring my food and exercise. I've managed to slowly lose 18lbs but am having so much trouble with the last five. I have only 8 more weeks till graduation and I really want to make my goal.

So finally - has anyone else had any problems losing their last five pounds and what did you do to kick it into gear?

When I was at my lightest, I was eating very little dairy and I was eating lots of rice and vegetables.

I'm in the same situation as you - I lost about 35 pounds and I now have 7 left to lose and have been trying for about the last year but nothing is coming off Happy

I know with me is that I am just eating too much. I keep losing a pound or too, then have a week of lots of eating out with bdays and stuff and then put it back on again.

Have you tried using fitnesspal.com? I find it really useful for tracking food and exercise.

Monika: Makes sense... I should start making more veggie sushi for lunch Tongue

Tasha: Ooo yeah that's actually the site/app I've been using. It's really helpful but I think I've just gotten to the point where dieting isn't going to help enough and I have to go back to more exercise. Happy I just hate working out and have a hard time fitting it in.

Congrads on losing 35lbs though! That's awesome Happy

ahh same v___v
I lost about 30+ pounds 2 years ago, but because I got busy during my senior year of high school, wasn't able to maintain the weight and gained about 13 pounds back D:

in the last few months I've bucked up and lost 14 pounds, but I want to lose about 5 more >:

simply dieting won't necessarily get you a good body though
if you don't have muscle and are only fat-skinny (light, but most of your weight is fat), you'll be jiggly and could look heavier than someone that's toned

recently i've been doing some yoga, and wanna go running when the pollen dies down

i used to hate exercising too
but then I started it up, and it just makes your mood a lot better, you have more energy AND you'll look hot
working out doesn't have to be torturous, you can dance, jog, do videos, bike, etc. ^^ as long as you get your heartrate up

First off, i'd like to say that ur very lucky! I'm the same age/height/build as you, and i've never been under 160 lbs (that i know of). lol Count your blessings girl.
Idk if this will help, but i know that when i first became a vegetarian i lost a lot of extra weight, and i feel loads better. Try eating just 1-2 days a week totally vegetarian, and try out alternatives to meat like soy or veggie protein istead.
I also told this to my friend and it helped her: Try measuring out your portions. Especially with snacks. If you do snack, seperate your portion into a seperate plastic baggie, and eat just that. Then you wont keep mindlessly munching out of the potato chips bag. lol good luck!
