Home made Mod Podge?

I'm portuguese and I don't know what Elmer's glue is, but I guess it must be some kind of white glue. I usually do my decoupage with Mod podge, but lately I've tried wood glue and water and it works out just is fine.

I made a holiday-card decoupaged picture when I was 8 years old in school. It was done with clear varnish top and bottom. My mom still has it. I thought even when I was a child that the fumes were dangerous and we did not use face masks or anything. I usually buy Modge Podge, but there are some wonderful ideas here in this thread. I am short on cash as well.

Didn't read all of the posts.

You can substitute the clear elmers for the white, mix with water and it may be better for you
