Knitters come hither

with purling you have to have the back of the knitting facing you, which I forget to do and mess up, I prefer the pattern that knit 1, purl 1 makes Happy

The most complicated thing I've ever managed to knit is a leaf and a lace pattern, I've not done anything complicated for a while.

I bought some circular knitting needles but I can't figure out how to do it.

Okay more questions. What if I used the english method then the continental would that work so I didn't have to switch back to right? and how do you make a circular needle circle instead of twisted?

no both ways you pass the knitting to the other needle when you finish a row, I'm sorry Chels but that's just what you do! Once you've switched them over its like you've not done anything at all.

Personally I wouldn't use circular needles until you've conquered straight knitting, but for future reference:

I heard that if you dip it into really hot water the plastic/rubber will become supple and you can untwist it and keep it like that (for a while anyway)

There are good videos of it on youtube.

I just have to say again that the only way I've ever heard to n ot have to switch needles is to do regular right handed knitting for a row, then to do left handed knitting for a row. I think I said it very confusingly before.

So knit a row across, like always, then find a video and use it to know across again, acting as though you are left handed.

I've tried it and it works. I do repfer to just switch my needle though. I guess if you practiced and were fast at this then it would be amazingly cool.

It really only works for basic stitches though, so to do lace and things would be very very complicated.

I don't see what the big deal is with just switching the needle.

I realised that you can't do knit a row, purl a row without switching needle, cuz if you don't purl at the back of the knitting it will go wrong. Took me a while to get purling when I started knitting AND purling too i find it really easy now Happy Easier than knitting.
