if your still looking into learning how to knit or crochet, the books "stitch and bitch" are a tremendous help. im a self taught knitter and crochetter (sp?), and i may not be able to knit sweaters and such, but ive made my fair share of scarfs, bracelets, belts, fingerless gloves, handbags, and shoulderpurses, im still working on my crocheting, but ive made a flower, and im doing a circle pillow for my mom, and its thanks to the stiches ive learned from these books. i believe theres two on knitting, or maybe just one, but then theres one on crocheting and knitting combined. and the best thing about them is that they're not an old grandma type of book, its really hip and fun, showing you all sorts of patterns such as bikinis, scull bracelets, awesome bags, and all sorts of things. i don't know where you could find them or how much they are if your willing to buy the books, but i just check them out at the public library, and if your library doesn't have them on their shelfs, lots of libraries have a request program where they'll get them sent in from other libraries, and you can check them out that way, the only bad thing with the requesting is that most the time you can't renew them, you'll have to give it back, and be put back on the waiting list to get it again.
yep that's why. Pectin does the same thing but it's from plants I wish who ever made Haribo would use pectin instead of geletin I love Haribo!!! I have vegetarian jelly sweets though so that's ok
I like actually all of SuperTramps songs on the Breakfast in America album... I guess taking the long way home would be my favorite but I really like the whole thing. Can you look online for crochet videos to teach you? Or come to Charlotte NC???? LOL

Hey chelsea, i saw that you can't figure out how to post pictures on the boards, so I thought I'd help you out:
1. set up an account on photobucket www.photobucket.com
2. upload your pictures on to photobucket (it'll explain how, on the site)
3. once your pics are uploaded you'll see a bunch of codes underneath them. Copy the HTML code(you'll see what I mean) and paste it on your board post and voila!
Thanks for the comment. I'm going to have to make a new one of those cat toys as I had the toy on top of the rabbit cage and the string was dangling down and they chewed it!!!
Sorry but I can't make origami animals but maybe in ur local library you can find a book on it.

mhmm yeap i actually made my own version of that one rocker skirt and have just been lazy about posting it lol i'ma also prolly post up a monster bag how-to mebbe just gotta remember to take the pictures (but ack! i'm so bad at posting stuff!! 0_____0)
Yes, it is called a chain stitch! I tell the girls at work that I am teaching to make a single crochet to remember to say poke-grab-pull-grab-pull-pull and you have a single crochet. So poke the hook into the next stitch, grab some new yarn, pull through the hole you just poked through, grab more yarn on the hook, pull the new yarn through both loops on your hook! It is funny when I hear them chanting to themselves poke, grab, pull, grab, pull pull between calls. We work in a call center where there are about 450 people and we work on our crochet between people calling us!
*Big hugs* - we've banned her new account from the site too! T's going to make a report button by the end of the day so you'll be able to block her as soon as she's nasty again!
So, have you actually been learning to crochet? I have taught 2 girls at work... one was a very fast learner and the other is catching on but still practicing her stitches. You said you get bored with projects and quit, so I am hoping you won't do that with this since once you learn to crochet, then you are able to make quick small items that you will want to finish. Let me know if I can help in any way!
I no-I really hate her!
I think Cat has managed to delete all the comments she has made-YAY
And I think she has also deleted her and blocked her from the site aswell

hopefully i shall again next year.
and chyeaa i totally like the flickr one better,

someone on the site took it and did it for me.
The flat toothbrushes work best. I've never tried the ones with the rubber grips. I don't think that would end well. If you can't fit the entire thing then you'll have a really hard time being able to work with it. You'd have to soften oneside, bend it, and cool it. Then too the other side. But that might make it brittle.
To make the pattern, you could maybe draw a basic picture of how it, if you have some kind of drawing program on your computer. I was looking at my oven glove and I think I got the jist of it
Thanks =]
I got a sort of "how-to" under my websites for the jumper if youre interested.
P.S. Don't know if you've checked it out, but craftster.org is an AMAZING website. There are younger crafters like ourselves on there too, my stuff is nothing compared to like anything on there.

Hahaha, I guess Georgia isn't THAT bad, I'm just bored of it. I bet California has the BEST stores though
really, no one has made anything from scratch? Yeah, I was thinking of doing "how to"s but it's all sort of trial and error. When I get better, I definitely will.
lol I actually got dubbed this name by my musician friends a few years back. They were drunk after their gig and start singing "Darling Niki" by Prince. hehe. Its an embarrassing song especially sung at the bar. Oh well it stuck Thanks for the compliment! I just started making jewelry about a year ago and I'm still learning the ropes.
You do know that there are sites that have videos of how to crochet... it is fairly easy if, and I mean IF you are willing to practice. It is one of those crafts where it seems hard at first and then one day... it all falls into place. If you need any help at all, I am just an email away.
awe lol, thank you! Ahh, you don't want to move to Atlanta(blah, I hate it here) hahaha.
