Best way to drill Scrabble tiles?

I drilled some scrabble tiles with my husbands CNC drill, but it is not always available and it is REALLY expensive so I am always afraid of breaking something.

Does anyone have a better way to drill tiles?

Well, which way are you drilling the holes; through the front to the back or down through the top? I don't know if it's the easiest way, but I drill down through the top using a 1/16 inch bit and then screw in a eyelet secured with either E6000, glossy accents glue, which I also use on the front of the tile to make seal it/make it dimensional, or super glue in gel form. I have already broken a couple of bits only because I was in a hurry, and though they only cost about 2 dollars and some change with two in the package, they can get pricey if I keep breaking them. So far though, I have only had to buy them once after the first pack.

I am drilling from top to bottom in two places (for double drilled bracelets). I have also heard a dremel with a small bit works..I really must get a dremel someday Happy

I have a dremel but I don't have bits for it, besides I want a new one anyways. I use my cordless drill with no problem, just wish I had a drill press so the piece can be firmly held in place and drilling is easier with using the lowering lever.
