Guitar Body Ideas

Hey!

A few months ago I bought an old guitar and I’m restoring it. I also bought an extra guitar body to test the tools, the paint, etc without destroying the good one. I'm wondering about what to do with this extra body once I finish my guitar, cause I can't make another guitar with it.

I’m thinking of making something like a table, a clock… but nothings seems to be the right idea.

Anybody has any good ideas????

Thanks!

You Could make a brilliant clock, because you have all the spaces from where the nob wires go to the pick ups to run the wiring, or maybe even a radio restoration with this as the display/face you could add the wires through maybe the display through, add some lighting!
or you could turn it into a light sensitive therimin using a photo resister. There is actually alot of cheap therimin kits you could buy and wire into it!

Maybe make another mock guitar as a decorative object. It would not need the strength or electronics of the genuine article but could look realistic enough for a wall ornament

You could turn it into a decorative CD holder thing (add the neck as a frame then a stand at the back, then add metal/wooden/plasic notches all the way up).

You could make it a sort of wall decoration that is useful - like putting small nails as pegs to hang things, or using the spaces to balance ornaments on (like tiny shelves).

You could stain and lacquer it to use on a coffee table instead of coasters? Or as a decorative centrepiece or a serving tray of some kind if you filled the spaces with that glassy-looking stuff (forgot the name).

You could use it as an arty wall decoration and do some sort of design on it, like a take on Aboriginal art, or one of those puff-paint things to make a 3D design, butterflies, landscapes, really anything that catches your fancy.

I'm all out of stupid ideas...

That radio idea is amazing Simply Shauna!

My boyfriend's dad owns a music studio and he has a table made from an old guitar it's pretty cool looking. You could also probably turn it into some cool wall art by modge podging old sheet music or comics on it.

Wow! Thanks to everybody! You all have very interesting ideas! When I’ll finish to restore the guitar I'm going to actually play, I'll start with this one.... as for now, I’m going to think about all your ideas. Of course, once i finish the project I’ll publish the result here! Thanks again!
