What to do with corks?

I know this is strange but I have collected over the years hundreds and hundreds of champagne and wine corks. I did have them in a large vase and they looked fab, that was until my puppy knocked them over and broke the vase!
Now I am looking for something crafty to do with them? Any ideas?
Thanks

Ooo this sounds fun! You could make stamps out of them if you have children or know of little ones that you need to keep entertained... Maybe a cork necklace? Would certainly be a statement piece! I'm sure I could think of a few more when I'm not so tired :p I'll have to come back to this one.

I started to collect them to make the cork bulletin board I saw here.I just love it.
But I made some cool earrings and necklaces out of them years ago, still love and wear them.

Thanks for your ideas...I had a look at the cork board in projects and I think I will give that a go! It looks brilliant. Although, keep the ideas coming please because I have so many corks!!
Thanks

My boyfriend has been collecting feathers as he's making a mobile with corks. I think he saw a project on instructables, but basically you have your corks and attach thread through the middle and then stick feathers at an angle all the way round. They then catch the wind and spin in the breeze. I'll get him to take some piccies when he gets round to making it.

You can make trivets or coasters! I'd love a trivet hehe.
If you fish you can use it as the little floaty thing for when the fish pulls it under the water cause it floats! (obviously I don't fish cause I don't know the name of the floaty thing! haha)
You can make a sort of mosaic by cutting them up and I'm sure you have a few that are different colors, or you can always paint them.
Make a cork wreath!
Cover a picture frame.
If you cut a slit in them you can use them as a name place holder if you're having a dinner party.
If you garden, you can grind them up and use them as mulch, it helps your garden hold onto more water.

Hope that helps! I kind of got carried away with the ideas there! Wish I had a bunch of corks! Happy

When I was a kid we used them to make the body of butterflies, fairies, people, reindeer, horses. I have done many decorations with them for my daughters preschool class years ago, and her Daisy girl scout troop as well. you can make coasters with them, wine cork wreaths, Refrigerator magnet, Cork Ornaments , pincushion , "beaded" cork doorway hanging thing. Or nose less wind chimes. you can google cork crafts and get many ideas Im sure.
