Couture Fashion By a 10-Year-Old??
OMG I want that dress she was holding at the end, my daughter would look so cute in it!
I'm amazed she can sew that well at her age! She is very talented. I can't sew worth a crap. I made a pillow once in school but that's it. lmao
She does well for a 10 year old, but they're all tube top dresses. (Pretty easy) NOT TO BE MEAN or anything. I'm just afraid she'll get into her head that she's "all that" and a "prodigy" and not realize that to be really good you have to take advice, study, and learn the mechanics of design.
Also, seriously little kid...act your age. You are not in your 20's. She needs to learn how to be a kid first, learn some manners and respect for her elders (The ones paying for everything) and learn how to not be so materialistic!
When I was 10 I was playing in the yard, making mud pies, and designing tube tops for my cabbage patch kids. ;)
Kids grow up way too fast these days.
i think it's good she's doing things like that at an early age as i think most people who are going to be really good at anything do it from a young age...but make up at 10? i was wearing 'dress up' make up then-not real make up to make myself look older!
i too got a sewing machine young, (a kids one) for valentines day from my mum and dad when i was about 9 or 10 and i LOVED it!
I find the idea of being absolutely AMAZING at something so young kind of sad, sure it is amazing that she has the resources and talents to do this, more power to her!
But my question is how will she handle it if/when she plateaus and is in the pool with designers her own age, and is no longer an anomaly?
It is an insane amount of pressure to maintain talent like that, it's one thing to have a dramatic rise to talent where you can see yourself get to a high point, but to start so highly praised in something can lead to a lot of heartbreak later on in life.
Time and talent will tell I suppose.
Also...does she remind anyone else of Rachel Zoe?
