insect into pendant?

A friend wanted my help turning a preserved insect into a pendant, but I'm not sure how to go about it. She's already covered it in a poly coating, but we're not sure about how to attach it to a necklace. She doesn't really want to drill through it (and we don't have a drill or anything anyway), so I was thinking possibly a wire cage... any other ideas?

She could try making a resin pendant

I agree with Arty KitKat, resin would probably work the best at preserving it, resin is pretty cheap and easy to use too. Maybe if you guys know how to solder you can make a tiny little glass box to hang it from a chain in. Resin is probably best. You can put into a small mould and add your insect, then drill a hole for the the chain fitting. You may be able to find a small perfume bottle to fit Happy
