Creepy or creative?
Both, perhaps? Jewelry Box Made of a Human Skull
I think it's lovely, but disrespectful in a way... I mean, it is a human being's skull. What was once a complete conscious entity is now a mere decorative trinket holder. Any other perspectives?
It's disgusting. Both tasteless in design and tasteless in the fact it's a human and you're keeping your jewellery in it. If it was made in ceramics it'd be slightly better but I'd still laugh at it's* ghastly design if I saw it in a shop.
What's wrong with a simple black box?
*I have thought about this for a while and I've decided it isn't a grammatical error because i'm referring to something which is human, or at least made of human remains. So. yeah.
um, a fake plastic skull? not a real skull. I agree with Roma.
Yes, that's wrong. It's tacky and horrid.
a real human skull??
wow...thats disrespectful. i MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT consider buying a small fake plastic skull jewelry holder
okay if it was a fake skull , ya it would be slightly different and kewl thing to see but a real human skull is just wrong on so many levels..i hope whoever has the gulls to get it they are haunted by the spirit that owns it. oi that just sent chills down my spine...now i seen just about everything on the web.
The thing that freaks me out is that it's velvet-lined. There was a big mushy brain there once.
The idea doesn't bother me. The way it was designed and executed in the link, however... Tacky.
It seems like it could be done well, though.
It all depends.
The jewelry box in the picture is tacky and horrible.
But I am planning on having some of my body parts made into interesting items because when I die, I still want to help others with individuality.
That is tacky, but we have no clue whether or not she wanted it.
I don't like the look of that, but...
I think I would like to be an english teacher's pencil holder, or some creative genius craft box. I'm alright with that. I'd like to help someone who is helping the world after I'm dead.
But yea... that particular item, I dislike.

this is especially disgusting. Its a FETAL and elderly skull. Its disgusting. A child has no way to consent to this mockery of what it once was, it has no way to grasp what will happen, and its disgusting to see what they do ....
ugh....
Its interesting... the skull in a skull, but utterly disgusting and ... its BEYOND tacky, much much much beyond that... its... just disgusting... thats all I can say. DISGUSTING..
Not the skulls themselves, but what they've done to this poor child's remains... how can they do that? THAT is what disgusts me.
I don't like the decoration of the skulls, I think they do look tacky, but I also don't believe that whatever spirit humans possess stays attached to their earthly remains after death. I believe that the body no longer has any relevance after death. I don't care what anyone does to my body after I die... they could just leave it to rot in a corner. Or someone could cannibalize it. I wouldn't care.
I think the skull (from the first post) is pretty gross looking, in design and the fact there are teeth and other bits hanging off it. If it was a bit more polished maybe it would be better looking.
I concur with Rainbow, in that I don't believe after death there is anything of me left in the body. If my OH wanted to use my skull as a pencil holder so be it.
yeh I think that your body is just a shell, especially when you die but I think it's a respect thing, even if that person said yeh do that with my skull, some people still think it's not very respectful, I for one think that, I don't know why really maybe its just a society taboo thing. I'd rather it go into research or something and I don't like the design either, although if it was polished, like pearly texture then I think I'd like it more.
Eew Diss the thing in that link is HORRIBLE.
I feel the same about bodies, I don't care much about what happens after my death, but I don't think it's fair to make that assumption for other people.
my friend made a good point a couple days ago: would you rather rot away in a box after you die?, or become something beautiful?
